There are many paths along the maze that are obscured. And a couple portions of the path don't line up well enough to the next segment brought about by rotating an outer section. So, there's a bit of guessing the ball is on path, some tapping and hope to get over the mis-aligned. It absolutely doesn't matter how skilled or careful you try to be; getting to the end requires an insane amount of luck. This is a very big toy. It was fun for a short period. My son loves rubiks cubes and is very good at solving them. This maze cube took him about four hours to complete.

    • we love it. but beware you cannot solve the rubik first and expect to solve the perplexus singularly

this think is a great waste of time, but in a good way. i gave the 3x3 to my nephew (he does rubik blindfolded), the 2x2 to my neice and got a 2x2 for myself. spent 2 hours trying to solve the rubik by numbers, colors; no joy. the 2x2 had 2 white, 2 yellow, a green, red, orange and a blue. that should have been my first clue. also the cubes are numbered but seems that's just to through you off. the cheat sheet does help but i ended up numbering the vias for each to make it easier. got up to 27 before losing the ball. this thing requires patience. if you are the easily frustrated type, look elsewhere. if you like puzzles, a good challange and can put aside the need to take a hammer to this, its worth the $. bought 3, will look for more victims :D ... show more

If you want a brain challenge, this is definitely one. Figuring out how to get from start to which connecting cube and which from there. Luckily, the game does come with a cheat which tells which cube to turn to next (but not which side of the cube). The negative about it is the poor construction. The clear cube parts are poorly attached to the black center parts. Some bulge, some go it, not enough to ruin the play, but enough to worry about how well it will hold up over time. Brand new and already damaged areas. Another perplexus game I have seems to also be held together poorly also. Shame for their cost. ... show more

Very difficult to keep ball on the track. Have other Perplexus maze games and this is by far the most difficult track to navigate. Fun idea but can get frustrating. Purchased for 11 year old.
