This little jack-o-lantern fire pit is cute. It’s not just for Halloween. Use it year round. It’s the smaller fire (3-4” average flames) type and a little different than most. First off, this page states that this pit stands on 3 legs. It does not. It has 3 small button stick on rubber/felt feet. I believe the “3 legs” was for the old version they used to sell that had the large wire curved legs/platform for the pit to sit in. I’m guessing they changed the pit and not the info on the pit. This pit comes with some ceramic wool wick sponge in the small steel cup “burn chamber” that has a tab sticking out in the middle that says “MAX”. This is the maximum fuel level height. This steel chamber sits inside the next larger stainless steel cup “safety liner” which sets into the next larger stainless steel cup “safety liner #2” and all sets into the 3 7/16” tall, about 4 ¾” at widest point “fire pit”. It also comes with a black flame extinguisher with a circle handle and “user’s manual” card. Once you find where you want to set your pit, add your fuel and light with a long match or long lighter. With Swan brand 70% isopropyl alcohol, I get a smokeless 72 minute burn time. FYI, the weather parameters, different brands, different fuels get different results. I've used different brands and different % of isopropyl (rubbing) alcohol. Some burn clean and some burn with a faint black smoke which you should use outside because of the fumes and setting off the smoke detectors. Don't let this detour your use, just use that fuel outside. There are many fuels out there that burn clean. Burn pits are awesome! You can use them indoors and out. Very inexpensive to burn. No messy or dirty wood to deal with, no fumes, no ashes, etc.. There are many different fuels you can burn. They produce heat and great ambiance. Who doesn't like watching a fire burn. Right! FYI: I always put a cork coaster under anything with heat to protect my furniture no matter what. This pit doesn’t get nearly as warm as others and it has the felt or rubber feet under it but I don’t take any chances. 5 stars all the way!

I sort of wish I had bought a generic one that could be used more than just the holiday. But...it wasn't really very expensive. It doesn't burn very long and the fuel (I used ethanol) evaporates in the unit when it's not used, even when covered. Overall, I'm pleased with it and recommend ethanol over rubbing alcohol - cleaner burning and no soot.

The media could not be loaded. The description says it is raised on 3 legs. No it is NOT! The so-called legs are tiny foam stick on pads that are approximately 1mm thick. The major problem is that it did not stay lit! It went out in less that 3 seconds, even filling it half full and using 91% alcohol! What a piece of junk!

The media could not be loaded. Our family had a blast roasting marshmallows and making s’mores out of our left over Halloween candy, with our new Flaming Pumpkin Head, as we call it. We used 91% rubbing alcohol because that’s what we had on hand, and the flames reached 12” above the head, easy, and went it at just over 79 minutes. It’s a lot of bang for your buck, without all of the clean up/setup of an outside fire pit! and it’s great for kids because you have to be really close to get burned, the fire is very contained (while still being accessible! At one point we had four large marshmallows roasting) and the it’s hard to tip over. The outside does get warm, even mildly hot, too the touch, but it’s not going to burn through anything or start a fire. If you are worried about it, you can always put it on a hot pad, a cooking rack, or a silicone something. The snuffer also works very well. The alcohol flame does seem to do different things to the marshmallows than a wood fire - instead of going brown and bubbly, the marshmallows go black and soot-looking on the outside. The taste is very clean, but still rich with that gooey, melted, fire taste. We didn’t mind at all. This is really perfect for an after dinner family fun time - in the house! I can see families in apartments particularly enjoying this extra fun thing. The pumpkin pattern makes it fun for the younger kiddos. My only real complaint with this device is that the instructions that came with it in the box are frightfully bad. It seems self explanatory after someone explains it, but before it’s fairly unclear. Fortunately the Amazon page has more explanations than the instructions in the box. It would be great if they could harmonize the two. Overall, our family had a fun time with this little dude, and we hope you will too!

I love the look of this pumpkin fire pit. It's a little smaller than I thought, but still works well and is a decent size. I'm the type of person who loves Halloween any time of the year, so this fits perfectly for me. When not in use, it's a cool little pumpkin I can have on a shelf. The only drawback to ding 1 star for me was the texture of it. In mine, there was some blotches. Like if the paint on it got too thick, leaving rised up dots or streaks in some areas. It's not a huge deal, but I wish it was smooth all the way around, as the dots can be distracting and make it look less in quality. But other than that, I love this firepit.
