It's very lightweight that it can be lifted with a finger without effort. The cross bar at the top provides perfect support for the knees for stability while working overhead. I wanted a step ladder that is sturdy and not over priced, wanted one that was light and not made out of SS. When a item that you may use is light, you tend to use it more when you need it cause if its too heavy you would use something else that was close by but if i was on the other side of the house and needed a step ladder i would walk to my garage to get this one... its like picking up a box of corn flakes, no weight to it.. made out of Al, but hollow sturdy constructed. If you need a 2 step latter, look no more... this is it.. its cheaper then other ones and its made by Rubbermaid... a Company that you can trust.. and most of all this it so Light... ... show more

I bought this letter for myself and love it. It is lightweight easy to manage and fold nicely for storage. I have bought three other ones as housewarming gifts. The third one that I bought as a gift does not hold up good at all. Reached out to their customer service and have had a problem getting a replacement. I like that it’s fairly light weight but is heavier then the one I bought years ago from a major retailer. It was the lightest weight one I could currently find. I like the wide step at the top. I wish it was a little thinner when folded. Still it’s a good step stool/ladder.

The main reason that I ordered this Rubbermaid Step Stool is that the legs have rubber "feet" that do not slide on tile or porcelain floors. Many step stools do not offer the rubber grips on the legs. It has a very slight wobble -- one leg must be slightly out of alignment with the other three legs -- and I probably would not have noticed it had I not been so vigilant to check-it-over to be sure that I like it. I didn't spend a lot of time looking for the reason for the wobble because it was very slight. I also like the way that the first step is mounted on the legs. I plan to use it in the bedroom closet when I am placing sweater boxes and other items up on the top shelf. Because it is so lightweight, I do not think that I would recommend it for really tough projects that require a solid, heavy platform for safety. ... show more
