I love a smith rack for training and this one comes with all the bells and whistles for an excellent price. I recently moved and had to give up my last one so I was one the hunt for a replacement. Interesting new idea for me was the two slide system that allows two stations (left and right) at the same time for exercises that do not use the smith bar. My old one had only one weight stack in the back center, which was also harder to put and remove weights. I am a fan and sold on this new concept. Anyhow, assembly was smooth and took my wife and I about three hours. The slides work well, but I waxed them to improve the motion because they do not have bearings, just a plastic jacket on metal. The smith bar is great and is smooth with bearings. note it is not the classic 45 lbs, but feels more like 25 lbs without any weights added. I do bench and squats with with > 200lbs and the rack is solid.

This rack is great for the price. I am able to do enough exercises with this and dumbbells where I was able to end my gym membership. Pros: Smith bar allows me to safely workout without a spotter. The pullup bar has a lot of different options. The cable mechanisms work surprisingly well. The attachable racks for squatting or lifting a traditional barbell are easy to attach and remove. The whole tower is very sturdy. Cons: The instructions aren't the best and if you mess up, you may have to undo a lot of parts. There's no extra hardware, so be careful not to lose a bolt or nut. The cables and posts require a thin layer of silicone grease to slide properly (wasn't in the instuctions). The boxes are surprisingly heavy. This should be common sense, but the combined 3 boxes are about 300 lbs. Tips: There are a ton of parts. Make sure not to lose them. It will also take a lot more time than you'd expect to assemble. Don't be in a rush or you'll have to go back some steps. Assemble it in the room you plan to use it in. It is big and won't fit through doors. Putting the Smith bar in from the side requires a lot.of clearance. Pivot the rack towards a doorway if the room is small until you get past this part. You will need.clearance.on the back to rack plates. You should store plates here to add stability. The pullup bar has texture that caused handpain even though I have a lot of calluses. You may need workout gloves. In order to do seated rows and such, you'll need a lot of space in front of the cage. The included single hand straps suck. Buy better ones.

I haven’t had the machine up very long but so far, i’m impressed. for the price of this machine, you get so much! the quality is good and the assembly is about what you’d expect… took a few days after work to get it all done because i wanted to take my time and make sure i got everything together properly. the only complaint with the instructions is the parts weren’t labeled.. only the hardware was labeled. so that made things rather difficult. i think it was worth the effort and time to put together tho. i only received 3/4 boxes at first but that was not the sellers fault.. fedex missed a box. when i messaged the seller, they started working on getting another one sent out the same day. i’d def buy again!

Snagged this rack on Prime Day for $586.31 pre-tax. If you are an amateur lifter this rack should serve you well. Shipping: This rack comes piecemeal in three separate boxes with adequate packaging for the price point. However, two joints did come unusably bent, likely due to mishandling by the carrier (FedEx lost my package for 1 week). With the right tool and leverage I was able to bend them back no problem. However, your experience may vary depending on your shipping carrier and willingness/capability to make repairs. At this price you can't really expect it to be shipped in a wood crate like more premium manufactures would. Installation: It took me 4 continuous hours to put together myself. Please note that the manufacturer recommends two people to build. If you must build it alone, I recommend using duck tape to temporarily hold certain bolts in place where a second person would be necessary. If you cannot lift 30 pounds easily over your head you definitely cannot build this rack by yourself. Please be cautious. Cable machine: The cable machine is well designed with some minor grievances, there is no chafing of cables and there are different guards to prevent the cable from slipping out. This rack loses points in its use of plastic bushings to guide weight plates up and down the weight posts. They are not smooth unless you put grease and/or oil. After putting a half and half mixture of synthetic grease and synthetic oil, the machine is silent and smooth like butter. To be fair to this product, most premium cable machines require guide rods to be oiled. I recommend the grease to reduce noise and the oil to lower the viscosity and keep it slick. I used grease/oil variations from the Super Lube brand. Half rack capabilities: The front posts use standard 5/8 inch hole sizing. I wish they were powder coated instead of painted, but apart from cosmetic durability it makes no practical difference. The included J-Cups are a little elongated. I like this, but some may not. The included spotter arms are only 11 inches long, enough for presses or rack pulls, but not for squatting. You'll likely need to upgrade those to be longer if you want to squat using the spotters. Both the J-Cups and spotter arms use 10 gauge steel. Smith Machine: Before buying the rack, I was concerned about the rods being susceptible to bending. No chance. The solid steel rods will not bend, which makes it great for leaning into the smith machine. The linear bearings are very smooth, but are quite loud. The smith machine does have some natural slop between the left and right rods, which may bother beginners with potentially uneven form. It can easily be fixed with washers, but not at all necessary. To be fair to this product, all smith machines are loud and most home gym smith machines have the same kind of slop. For the nerds: - Black pieces are powder coated. - Gray pieces are painted. - Spotter arms and J-Cups use 10 gauge. - Connecting joints at the ends to tube steel are 11 gauge. - Tube steel are approximately 2x2 inches or exactly 50x50 mm in width. - Front posts use 15mm holes. - Horizontal and vertical tube steel are 14 gauge. - Smith machine uses solid 1 inch steel rods with linear bearings. - Smith machine bar is a hollow 1 inch tube fitted inside of another slightly larger tube with knurling. - Cable machine uses plastic bushings for weight posts and height adjuster.

Don’t let the price fool you, for roughly $700 bucks this smith machine cage is great. The smith machine track and bar are smooth and balanced well with safety hooks that can be adjusted to several heights on the rack. The cables are great and allow for a plethora of several different exercises. The initial attachments the unit comes with are a good start and would work great for a starter or veteran with lifting. Rope attachment, lat pull down bar, straight bar all add to a good workout. Cons: the eccentric movements lag. The weight receivers on the tracks have to be evenly balanced weight wise to run on the track properly. (May be solved by lubricating the track- will test and update this). Overall this machine for the price allows anyone to get a great workout at home. Well worth the price and very happy with my purchase. Chest presses, shoulders, squats, rows ect this machine for the most part can do it all. You can add dip bars and landline attachment if you wish to.

I am writing this review in the hope that it helps both the manufacturer to improve it, and any customer planning on buying it to know what they are getting. I am returning this product because I felt it was not operating smoothly, especially the pulley system. The pulley system is design to move along a square cross-sectional tack, which the same metal pillar that hold the machine in back end. The friction of the parts as the pulley system moves up/down is a major flaw in the design. For example, when using relatively low weights (less than 50lb) the pulley skips and “stutters” as it is going down, which is annoying and disruptive to the exercise flow. So if you need to use relatively low weight for biceps/triceps, or if you are someone who wants to use low weights for any reason, then this is product is going to disappoint you. As I a mentioned, the friction on the pulley systems is a draw back and renders this machine almost non usable. Another thing I realized right off the bat is that to change the position of the pulley handle and the cable in the front to adjust the pulley system up/down you need to unload the whole weights in the back off the pulley system, position the pulley handle where you need it, and then reload weights in the back again. That is also highly not convenient and disruptive. I have videos showing what I mentioned, and I will upload them to explain what I am talking about. The positives things: I received the machine within a week of ordering it (in different parcels over a few days, but still it was relatively fast). I put the machine together over the weekend and that went really easy and relatively quick (took about 3-4h); if you are familiar with IKEA products, then this will be easy to assemble. And I have to say that I liked the design of the machine and how sturdy it is. The smith machine seems to be ok nice, but the pulley system needs serious improvement. I love this machine!! For the price point and me not liking the crowded gyms? I'm winning!! Let me start by saying if you're a visual person, it's REALLY easy to assemble. Some people need written instructions or to actually see it done, for those people? I can see it being confusing and these instructions would be difficult. I found it super easy though! I laid out all the parts and threw it up in a little less than 2 hours by myself, from start to finish. It took me about 2 hours to unbox and layout all the parts and clean up, but it made the assembly WAY easier. There weren't any marked pieces, which would've have helped, but since I laid it out first, I could see it. I'm a 5'4 woman, but I do already lift weights and I've already put one similar to this together before though, so I'm sure that helped some. Like others added notes, I saw something that might help. The parts needed for each step are labeled on the parts(see pic). My delivery through FedEx was great too! They delivered it in great condition(I helped unload with a dolly though, the 3 boxes are HEAVY)!!
