If so, call me weird! Okay, the backstory. I actually purchased the Breville Blender in 2022, yes 2 years ago. It sat on my countertop unused because I thought this is going to be some major headache to operate, clean, etc. based on past blenders, despite having read numerous positive reviews regarding the Breville. However, recently I decided that I would make healthy smoothies instead of going to these juice places where you pay $$ for something you can make cheaper-and likely healthier-at home. This is part of my wellness and health reset for me and my husband. Another story. Anyway, as I am wont to do, I plunged in and started with a strawberry, banana, spinach, and yogurt smoothie with add-ins such as chia seeds, protein powder unflavored, super greens, and collagen (I told you this was a wellness reset, or my version of it). Added some ice and voila, it was delicious! So there I went making several varieties of smoothies every week and generally washing it by hand along with occasionally placing it in the dishwasher for a deep clean (make sure to put the top of blender in the upper rack of DW). I'm going on about my merry way until today when I noticed some stuck spinach on the bottom of the blades (why hadn't I noticed that before?? eew) which I couldn't get it out despite soaking the base and using a scrubber. Real conversation, me to husband: Me-I need to buy a special type of scrubber to get under the blades H- that's why I don't like these blenders because you can't unscrew the bottom to get the blades out (as he watches me try to unscrew bottom) Me-I still love it, though. Maybe the instructions will say how to unscrew the bottom to clean the blades (looking at instructions for the first time). What- it says there's an auto clean to use?? H- (looking at the blender). It's on the front Me-Ok, I'll try it. Following booklet instructions I fill the blender with 2 cups of warm soapy water and turn on the auto clean People, let me tell you, the interior of the blender was SPARKLING CLEAN after a few minutes of whirling, including said spinach stuck on blades I should be embarrassed by this admission, since the auto clean was staring me in the face for 2 years LOL But since I rarely read instructions (I bequeath that to my husband), there you go. Note to self, maybe it's better to read the instructions myself and take a good look at appliance. This is long so I'll wind up by noting why I am in love with this blender. The pros: sleek and sturdy design which feels nice to the touch works like a charm, churning, blending, mixing, etc with ease has a specific countdown for making smoothies, i.e., blends for a certain number of time easy to use, and evidently can clean itself! has measuring indicators- I threw that in because I don't really pay attention to that feature, but hey it can be useful Here's my unoriginal tip- read instructions. The booklet also has helpful info and smoothie recipes. Who knew. Since there are pros there has to be a con, right? Here it is...it is noisy especially when blending ice. I mean LOUD. However, as the ice break downs it becomes a bit quieter. Even with this ANNOYANCE, I refuse to downgrade my 5 star rating to 4. I love it that much. The end.

I’m seriously impressed with my Breville blender! It blends everything so smoothly — from frozen fruit and ice to soups and sauces — with barely any chunks left behind. The motor is super powerful, but surprisingly quieter than most blenders I’ve used. I also love how sleek and high-end it looks on my counter. It’s easy to use, easy to clean, and feels extremely durable. Definitely worth the investment if you want a blender that performs like a professional one at home!

We are getting back to our healthy habits in my household, and a new blender was at the top of my shopping list this month. I write reviews because I know how helpful they are for consumers who want to get the highest quality products for the best value. I LOVE reading reviews to learn about products I need or want! So, after watching and reading enough reviews on blenders to feel fully aware of what my options were, it came down to choosing between this blender, The Breville Fresh and the Furious for $199.00 or going for the mother of all blenders and spending twice as much (or more), for a V-mix. I have worked with professional blenders in the past, so I was aware of the difference between a blender that takes severe daily use abuse compared to one used in the home for daily shakes and occasional soups, dips, or sauces. Based off of the difference in blender needs between personal and professional grade function, as well as factoring in counter space, noise, and aesthetic, I chose the Breville. I could not be more pleased! After reviewing so many blenders, I was under the belief that the pitcher was made of glass, which had been something I was at first desiring of. However, it is made of a high quality, BPA-free plastic. The pitcher is also a decent size with a 6 cup/48oz max fill level, if it were made of glass it would be quite heavy. Perfect for making more than one portion of anything at one time! The ice crush works well on a pulse and there are buttons with preset auto-settings, all clearly labeled. The other buttons are for certain features as well so read the manual before using for best results. It is easy to read and there are also a set of large, colorful and easy to read recipe cards. Wash the blender before using by adding some warm water and a bit of dish soap to the pitcher. Place it on the blender base, secure the lid and THEN plug it in and press the button beneath the power button to self clean. Rinse well when done. The lid seals on securely with just gentle pressure and only a bit more effort to remove it. There is a center insert for the lid for easy adding of ingredients, (or to attach a separately sold vacuum add-on piece for the blender). Make certain it locks in place so you don't have any surprises! Again, read the manual for best placement of foods for the smoothest blends and never stick your hand into the blender as the blades are perfectly sharp. I believe it is dishwasher safe, but I personally never like the visual wear and tear on plastic based containers in the dishwasher so I will continue to use the blender's clean cycle, rinse well, and air dry. My smoothies so far have been perfectly blended and smooth to drink, not grainy at all. I am excited about making soups-especially now that fall and winter are on their way! The blender motor is quite powerful and it is not quiet, but it is not much louder than most modern day blenders. I added a video so you can see it in action and hear how loud it is. The base of the blender stands strong during blending and does not move at all or shake that much. An incredible appliance for anyone serious about smoothies or cooking. The Breville Fresh and the Furious would make an amazing gift to someone you love, or yourself!

I bought this blender by the recommendation of America’s test kitchen. Overall it’s a solid, reliable blender. It’s surprisingly lightweight, which makes it easy to move around the kitchen, and cleanup is quick — the jar and blades rinse out effortlessly, and nothing seems to cling to the sides. Performance-wise, it blends well. Smoothies come out smooth, frozen fruit gets handled without much trouble, and the motor is strong enough for everyday tasks. My only real complaint is the control panel. The buttons are all pictures instead of labeled words, and some of the icons are confusing to interpret at a glance. It still works fine once you get used to it, but I wish Breville had made the controls a little more intuitive. Overall, it’s a great blender for the price: lightweight, easy to clean, and powerful — just expect a small learning curve with the buttons.

I LOVE THIS BLENDER!! First, how fabulous not to have the heavy glass jug that I had with my previous Breville. And how wonderful not to have to struggle to remove the blade assembly to clean, like I also had to do with my previous. (Oh My God it could be hard to twist off.) You never have to mess with any of that with the Fresh and Furious. The special cleaning setting is so ingeniously designed that it periodically sends your warm soapy water shooting up the sides of the jug so that not just the blades are cleaned. People complain about the lid being difficult to pry off. It does fit snugly but I can always get it off. This blender’s motor is so powerful that they don’t want any chance of the lid shooting off and that’s a good trade off IMO. My first time using it I made romesco sauce. It was so quick and easy! You can’t go wrong with the Breville Fresh and Furious — I’m delighted with mine!

I've mostly used this blender to make Mexican foods (salsas from dried chilies & tomatillos, horchata with rice and almonds, etc.), and occasionally I make a smoothie or frozen drink. This thing is powerful. It goes through ice and nuts with no issue, and the various functions such as "smoothie", "green smoothie", auto clean, etc. are great. It can make ice almost into snowball ice consistency. At first I didn't think I'd like the pitcher part, because it's not glass, but it's actually very nice (and lightweight to handle). It cleans up well, and since I wipe it out & off after washing it doesn't get water spots - it's still nice and clear and clean looking. And, it's easy to read the measurements that are marked in red. The auto clean function works *really* well. On rare occasion I'll still have to give the inside a quick wipe, but not often (only when I've used olive oil in it, and even then, the auto clean does the job 95% of the time). I've never put it in the dishwasher, so I can't speak to that. If you clean or at least rinse it out right away, the auto clean really eliminates any need to put it in a dishwasher. It does sound like a jet engine taking off when it's doing it's auto clean, but that's fine with me. With regular use it's loud, but I've never used a quiet one, so it's a non-issue for me. The lid can be difficult to remove because it really seats into the pitcher well. But, I've gotten used to it, and if I leverage my thumb upward against the lid handle while pulling up on it, it's easier. It's hard to to explain. Sometimes a bit of food residue will get under the big seal around the lid, as others have said, but I haven't had any problems getting it out. I'll run it under the faucet and just pull back a bit on the gasket. That usually gets any small particles right out. I like that the blades are part of the pitcher. They don't come out, and aren't a separate piece like my old blender. I thought at first that might be a problem with cleaning, but it hasn't been. It's actually easy to get the edge of a dishcloth under the blades if you need to, plus, nothing much escapes the auto clean function. If you plan to store this on your counter under a cabinet, or in a cabinet, take note of the height of it. I have standard height countertops & cabinets, and this fits on the counter under the cabinet just barely (with lid on). I haven't bought a blender in years, and I'm glad I chose this one. I use it much more often than I thought I would. I've only had it about 6 months, so I can't say how well it will hold up over time. **UPDATE 5/25: Blender still works just fine. However, the ‘stickers’ that are glued to the selection buttons (off/on, mix, pulse, blend, etc.) are peeling off. Yes, those are stickers. For the price you’d think that either they’d have these well glued, or even better, that you’d have actual ‘metal’ buttons, not stickers of all things. Pretty disappointing. But as I said, the blender is still doing the job and otherwise still looks good. Gotta get the glue out and glue these back on because I won’t remember which button is which function. Do better Breville.

I make green smoothies almost daily, and this blender's dedicated "green smoothie" mode is amazing! It usually handles hard things like nuts, oats, frozen fruit, and dried fruit perfectly well with the amounts of liquid I'd expect, though occasionally it needs a second round of blending to get it all perfectly smooth. It rarely cavitates. There's no leakage, and it seems pretty durable; I've regularly used it for about 3 months now. The blades might be slightly less sharp than when I first bought it, but that's probably my own fault for emptying the last bits of smoothie with a metal spoon. The self-clean cycle is a wonderful perk, though sometimes it leaves things like nut butters still stuck under the blade or on the side of the canister, so keep an eye out for that.

I've had this blender for five months. It gets used on the daily, usually to create green juices full of fibrous leaf vegetables. It performs as well today as it did the first day I got it. Everything gets pulverized, no chunks. This is also true when I make protein shakes with added pecans - this blender has no problem blending everything to a creamy consistency. The one exception to this is when I add hazelnuts - a very hard nut - into the shake, in which case there may be a slightly larger chunk or two in the finished blend. The blender also works well for blending warm/hot ingredients and creating puree. It seals tight and has never spewed hot liquid out of the top, which is an experience I've had with other blender brands and truly never want to repeat. This brings us to the much-reviewed lid and its removal... or the difficulty thereof. Yes. It has a quite forceful seal and I do have to wrestle with it on occasion. This is a negative that I'm am happy to deal with given I've experienced the mess not-so-well-sealed blenders can cause. If you have the full use of your hands/wrists and have an average amount of strength (I'm female, 55 years old) and a basic understanding of leverage, you'll probably be able to figure out a way to work with the lid. If you have some kind of issue with your hands/wrists (e.g. carpal tunnel, arthritis), I would not recommend this blender for you. Finally: the self clean feature is the absolute bomb! Love, love, love that feature. I use it after every blend and am blown away at how well it works. That feature along with the timed shut-off (so the motor doesn't overheat), along with its stellar performance makes this blender an excellent choice for the money.
