  • WONDERFUL little incubator!!!
Size: 18 Egg Incubators
I came across this Humorrap18 egg incubator with automatic turner, temperature and humidity control, and built in egg candler. It is a smaller incubator than the ones I already had, but still had the handy features I wanted per the listing. So, I decided to try it. As luck would have it, it arrived the day we were setting eggs! We had already set up and filled one of the bigger incubators, which meant the choice eggs were already taken. But, we went ahead and put the rest in this incubator knowing it may not have the highest hatch rate simply because of egg choice. However, it will be a good run to see how well it holds temperature and humidity. And whatever hatches will just be bonus chicks! My husband set it up while I was doing other chores. He said it was pretty straightforward following the instructions. (Don't skip the step about installing the gear or the turner will not work.) The incubator feels just as sturdy and as well made as our larger incubators. The fan, turner, and candler all work. The water bottle fits well. At power up, the temperature rose quickly to 99.5° F. The humidity rose quickly as well, but was high. We opened the vent completely, still a bit high. We removed the plug for the second bottle. This brought the humidity to 60% per the display, temperature still holding at 99.5°. We put a mini thermometer/hygrometer in one of the outer egg slots. It showed 59% humidity, which is a little better; but it showed 97°, which is bad. We played with the vent, plug, and temperature settings to come up with the best combination to get as close to the readings we wanted. While the display didn't change, the mini is now reading 55% and 99° at the end of Day 1. We may add another mini closer to the center, if we can fit it in. If it more closely matches the display, it could mean a fluctuation inside the incubator depending on location. If it more closely matches the other mini, it could mean the reading on the display may be off just a bit. Although we may not use it, it's nice that it came with a tray for larger eggs. I will update the post as the hatch progresses. ************* By Day 3, we have everything stabilized and consistent. I think the issue was the water bottle was squeezed and too much water went into the reservoir. Just a guess at this point, but worth noting. (I know that day 2 and 3 pics look the same, but it is two different pictures.) ************* HATCH DAY! 1 egg was pulled at week 1 candling. It wasn't fertile. 3 eggs were pulled at week 2 candling because they failed to develop. 1 egg didn't hatch. So, out of 17 "second choice" eggs, we got 12 chicks. Not bad at all! The built in candler functioned very well. It's nice and bright. The incubator worked perfectly through the hatch, maintaining the temperature and increased humidity. The clear cover made it easy to observe what was going on inside during the entire incubation. I like the "turn timer" feature, too. It gives you an indication of how long it's been since the last turn and how long until the next turn. We lost power on day 5 for 2 hours. When electricity was restored, it had kept its settings. Very nice! I didn't have to try and reset anything. This incubator also has an audible alarm. When we were candling, the temperature dropped below threshold and the alarm does work. I appreciate all the features that are included on this incubator. This is just about as hands-off as an incubator can be. So simple and works wonderfully. I will update once again after cleaning with how that goes. Up to this point, I'd recommend this little incubator to anyone! (Note: The picture in the temporary brooder includes chicks from both incubators as they were being removed from the incubators.) ************* Cleaning was a breeze. Easy to disassemble and reassemble. I like how easy the control panel removed from the cover. This is a really good incubator. There isn't anything that I would fault. If you decide to purchase this incubator, I think you will be very pleased with your investment. ... show more

  • Great little incubator
Size: 18 Egg Incubators
I had previously purchased a small incubator for $60 that held about 12-18 eggs and had good results with it but it had less bells and whistles. This incubator has easy to use settings for temperature and turning. I love that it also comes with a candler as I had to buy one separately previously and recently discovered it was no longer working. The bottles for humidity control are great also and seem to be keeping the humidity steady so far. The turning setting seems a little too frequent - you can select to turn every 1, 2, or 3 hours. When I’ve turned by hand I typically only do it 2-3 times a day and that’s been plenty. Not that more frequent turning will cause issues but it’s not really necessary. It’s still a nice feature for it to be automatic. The instructions that come with it are pretty straightforward and tell you pretty much everything you need to know to get it running. You’ll just need to know temperature and length of incubation time for the types of eggs you’re using. Having the hatch timer is a nice feature I haven’t seen before! I set it up with my toddler and she’s excited to watch the eggs turn and wait for the chicks to hatch. ... show more

  • Hatching Made Easy and Fun!
Size: 18 Egg Incubators
This 18-egg incubator is amazing if you're starting out with hatching eggs! It has everything you need and makes the whole process super simple. I love that it turns the eggs by itself—just like a mother hen would. You can even choose how often it turns them! The digital screen shows the temperature and humidity, so I always know what’s going on. And if something’s too hot or too cold, it gives an alarm, which is so helpful! The best part is the water bottle on the outside. I can add water without even opening the lid. The built-in egg candler is super cool too. You can shine the light and see if the chicks are growing inside—my kids loved watching that part! And since it works for chicken, duck, quail, and more, it’s great for any kind of bird you want to hatch. It’s easy to use even if you’re a beginner, and the clear cover lets you see everything. I’m so happy with it! It made our first hatching project fun and successful! ... show more

  • Reliable and Easy-to-Use Egg Incubator – Great Results!
Size: 12 Egg Incubators
I am very impressed with the Humorrap 12 Egg Incubator. The temperature and humidity control are accurate and easy to monitor, which takes the guesswork out of hatching. The automatic egg turner is a huge plus—it saves time and ensures the eggs are evenly cared for. I also like that it comes with an egg candler, making it simple to check the progress without disturbing the setup. The compact size is perfect for small hatching projects, and it’s very user-friendly, even for beginners. I had a great hatch rate on my first try, and the chicks came out healthy and strong. Overall, this incubator is well-designed, dependable, and a great value for the price. Highly recommend for anyone looking to hatch chicken eggs at home! ... show more

  • working as expected
Size: 18 Egg Incubators
I’ve been using this incubator for a little while now, and everything is working just as it should so far. When I first unboxed it, I liked that the setup was pretty straightforward. The size is compact enough to fit on a table without being in the way, but still roomy enough for the 18 eggs it’s made to hold. The automatic turner has been working consistently, which takes the pressure off having to remember to do it manually. The temperature and humidity controls are easy to adjust, and the readings have stayed stable throughout the process. I’ve been checking with an extra thermometer just to be sure, and so far it’s been accurate. The egg candler is built in, which is a nice touch. It’s bright enough to see development clearly without having to take the eggs out or move them around too much. Everything feels sturdy, and I haven’t had any issues with the lid or the display. Overall, it’s doing its job without any problems, and it’s been simple to monitor the whole process. Looking forward to seeing how the hatch goes. ... show more
