  • Fit my bass great!
I have a hard time finding strings that will work on my 68 Silvertone bass because of the size of the tuners, mainly for the E string, but these actually fit!, and sound good too!!.....Thanks!

  • Didn't last long for me
I installed these strings on a brand new Gretsch short scale. I was constantly re-tuning during rehearsal. Before you say anything about setting up a new guitar, my guitar player is a luthier and he properly set it up for me. I got the 45-90's and read somewhere that when using a short scale bass, you need to have the biggest strings available. I'm getting 45-105's and i'll let you know BTW the E string (90mm) is dead sounding as well. ... show more

  • Fantastic “broken glass” roto SOUND!
Tyme to receive the product was a wee bit much; however, being UK made & short scale may be why. As my favorite singer, song-writer, bassist Nick Lowe says, “I Love the Sound of Broken Glass” & these strings deliver.

  • Been using these since the 70's
Still my favorite roundwound bass strings since 1971. Tip of the hat to Chris Squire (RIP).

  • Defective string
Instead of completely agreeing with the one star review, I'd rather believe that they sometimes have defective strings. The set I bought (RS66S) had only the E string sound really weird. There are some crazy overtones almost like an Asian drum. I wasn't able to tune it and I had to replace it with the old string. The other three strings sounded pretty balanced with deep lows and crisp highs. I gave it two stars because I'm not sure I would take chance to buy them again. I feel like it would be a gamble. So, buy at your own risk... ... show more
