I use this for my quail after they get 3 weeks. The legs adjust to higher so they dont spill it. They love it and use it fine. The water jug never falls out. It has rhe best locking mechanism that actually works so you can actually use the handles.

I have purchased this set twice now. I started new chicks about 2 weeks apart. It works great for chicks as they grow. I was able to start out with the waterer flat, then kick up the legs, and now it's hanging. It really does help keep the water clean. Good quality and works as advertised. It's a decent first step for feeders. The waterer pan is narrow enough where chicks won't drown but the water gets dirty very quickly, although that's the nature of chicks too. They kick the bedding in and it absorbs and blocks the water from refilling so you have to clean it out throughout the day.

These are NOT the same as the ones you see sold lower on Amazon. They are way sturdier than those and even better than the ones had originally bought as a certain supply store for tractors. These are well made and perfectly sized for your chicks and young pullets. The pic is from when my ladies were 3 or 4 days old. They are sassy teenagers now and the set still works for them! I extended the feeders legs and then two weeks after that put them on two wooden kitchen racks so they would stop kicking pine into their water. I'm glad I decided to try this brand - I've been really happy. We will be ordering the waterer and feeder parts from them soon! ... show more

I wanted to love these waterers, and I DO love one of them. The second one though? One of the legs pops out of position nearly every time I try to place it in the brooder. So then there's water sloshing everywhere while I try and fix it, and another mess to clean up. If my birds could speak, I'd have to worry about all the fowl language I'm teaching my chicks while setting that one up! I'm tempted to super glue it in place at this point. Since I do use these both for young and adult coturnix quail, I'll mention that I'm able to use these with the legs fully extended by two weeks of age for the chicks. They save me a lot of headaches and wet bedding, not to mention poopy water. So I don't have to wash and refill them as often as the smaller ones I was using that sit flat on the floor. The chicks aren't able to knock these over and spill water everywhere when they get the zoomies, either! The feeders arre just like the ones you can get from your local stores. They weren't why I bought these, but were a useful bonus. ... show more
