I ordered this for a road-trip from KC to northwest Nevada—Burning Man! We traveled 4 days across I-80, into Burning Man, being subjected to the alkali dust, traveling out to the same exposure, and 3 days back home. We unloaded/detached/reattached, and reloaded the carrier each day. The carrier survived without tearing or failure of any kind. We never encountered rain, but I have every confidence, if installed correctly, with the zipper to the back, it would have kept all the contents dry. There is a learning curve to the attachment process, so don’t try to pack it for the first time if you’re in a hurry to leave. We installed the straps inside the car (under the weather seal—yep, it just pulls down and goes right back into place) vs to the roof rails. Using the non-slip mat it stayed perfectly in place. I considered a hard top carrier, but have no place for storage and in the end, I didn’t believe most of them would be any less likely to get broken into than the bag cut. So, we went with this one and just unloaded the bag, putting stuff into the car at night. The durability far exceeded my expectation. I planned this to be a one and done, but it easily has more life and use in it. ... show more

Last second purchase for a trip from GA to FL, it survived through several rainstorms on the way with no issue. The straps are a little difficult to tighten at times and it can only hold three medium size suitcases. But worth it!

Worked well. a Bit hard to maneuver the zipper around corners when it's really cold outside. Still not sure where the front is. Says to point logo to front in instructions.... the LOGO is on both ENDS.
