We just got these, so I can't speak to the longevity, but the installation went all right. That is, after we figured some stuff out on our own. There was a significant gap on the sides at first and we were looking into other options. After taking them off and looking them over, we found they are adjustable for width (about a half inch of adjustment). After adjusting, they went on great. After all that I found "installation tips" on the bubble wrap explaining the width adjustment. My only suggestion to the seller is to include that tip in the instructions themselves! Otherwise, looking forward to using these.

I installed in under 10 minutes using only what came in the packaging. They provided spare screw and fastener. I tested the strength on saw horses with my luggage rack and 250 lbs of gear before installing, I'm pretty sure these are extremely under-rated, because I felt confident I could get on top with that all on it and it would have held (I'm 250lbs, so 500lb effective strength). Suffice to say, would buy again. And will recommend to family members looking for roof rails for their Toyota, but without the hefty Toyota price tag. Kudos to the MFG, this is an EXCELLENT product!

Arrived quickly, fit my vehicle easily (2017 Sienna LE), used it on a 5 hours trip without a hint of problem. "Easy" to install is, of course, relative--you're installing something on a roof. Be careful tightening it--the thumb nut may feel tight, then with a little shifting you find it it loose again, so jiggle it some and keep trying until you are sure. I used this with an ExCargo hard shell car top carrier. The way those attach is somewhat of a pain, with 4 clamps needing to be threaded through tiny holes and screwed in place. But because of the way these cross bars attach, I don't have to do that on the roof! I can leave the cross bars attached to the ExCargo, and put it on the roof or take it off as needed. Major time and hassle saver!

It serves it's purpose. Hard to believe that this one is stronger than it's competitors, it seems very flimsy.

Make sure you spend the time to blue (or red) loctite the adjustment screws. Before this, I bought one of the cheaper ones made with plastic clamps. Big mistake, as the subtle bouncing under load caused the screws to back out. This despite them having a dollop of blue Loctite. Oops! This has aluminum clamps and seems like it's substantially stronger than the other ones. It also feels better made than the others (fit and finish wise) and contains good directions. Good value for sure.
