These have really kicked up the creative aspect of grilling, we have begun trying to grill various veggies over the open flame that we never would have attempted before. These do get pretty grimy though, and if you don't clean them quickly they can require a lot of soaking to get clean again, so be warned! Our dishwasher didn't manage to completely clean them unfortunately. Not the end of the world though and I'm not even taking a star off for it, as a quick and responsible scrub or soak can avoid that headache. Highly recommend!

At roughly $12/basket, the Avanco three basket combination is the best value I have seen in this handy grilling tool. Three baskets gives me the option to grill my protein cubes separately from the vegetables, and use the small one for asparagus. My family loves kabobs. We have traditionally put them on the skewers in advance of grilling. Now we skewer them after the fact (particularly helpful for tomato, onion, and potato, which don't take well to rough handling on the grill on skewers), or we don't skewer at all, serving separately, a la carte, or on rice. We also use these baskets to wash tiny items in the dishwasher! The tops are easy on an off, the baskets seem to be made of tough stuff, and they clean up well (with a little brushing).

NOTE: This is a second review after allegedly violating "community guidelines." These baskets promise to make some of the trickier aspects of grilling easy. It delivered on the "easy." For large collection of bits such as vegetables and small meats (I used brined chuck trimmings), these save a ton of effort in hand-turning. It should be noted that the contents will not cook evenly due to the cylindrical nature of the baskets, but constant turning will produce an aesthetic charr. The baskets come with hooked rings, presumably for turning the baskets on the grill -- but using them may require getting hands uncomfortably close to the flame; I recommend a fork (standard table fork would do, and a grill fork even better -- two for better control). The baskets are difficult to clean as one might expect. In my case, a simple hand-scrubbing was not sufficient, and the bristles catch on the cage. A dishwasher clean was also insufficient, requiring another hand-scrubbing. In fairness, I failed to use a cooking spray on the basket -- which might better prevent sticking and discoloration (and provide easier cleanup). Overall they are a good tool and a clever solution for grilling smaller foods. I should add that these could also serve to hold woodchips, both when soaking and then directly on the grill, to give food that [traditional wood fire derived preservative method] flavor; for true [traditional wood fire derived preservative method], however, a niche appliance is still best.

I ordered these as a gift for a person in my family that really enjoys to grill. Now he can put some fresh vegetables such as squash, potatoes, carrots, and others on the grill without fear of them falling through the grate onto the fire. These baskets come with everything you need but the grill. The forks used to turn them are long enough to keep your hands at a safe distance and the hooks make it easy to remove them from the heat without burning your fingers or having to find clean gloves. This is a great gift for people that like to grill.

Barbeques are typically about burgers, steaks, hot dogs and chicken for me. However, I do enjoy grilled veggies too, but they can be a pain to cook on the grill. I'm really happy with the way they cook with these baskets. I don't put them on a skewer, but just cut up the veggies and put them in these cylinders. It's easy to turn them so they cook fairly evenly. And if they are starting to burn it's easy to move the entire basket. The only problem I had was trying to open the lid on the biggest one. Perhaps it was put on at a slight angle or it was made a bit small, but it was difficult to remove. The other two were no problem. I washed mine by hand because my dishwasher isn't that great even with the presoaking. Your dishwasher may do a better job getting the baked on bits. Normally one or two of the baskets is sufficient, but I got the set of 3 for those times when I have guests over.

This Rolling, Grilling Basket was such fun grilling the asparagus. It made it extremely easy to rotate and ensure that all pieces get a really great grilling texture and completely cooked without over cooking or burning. It also was used for other small food items that would otherwise fall through the grill. I recommend this multipurpose cooking tool.
