Once assembled, this platform is really sturdy and offers a lot of space. I just got a memory foam king bed and wanted something that was going to support two adults on it. Specifically, I wanted wide wooden slats (as opposed to thin metal ones), as well as slats that weren’t too far apart - and this delivered. The assembly doesn’t require too many steps, however the part where you tighten all the screws was a bit tedious. We found the screws to be very tight from the beginning and not at all easy to screw in. We did adjust the angle of the frame a few times and that helped with a few screws, but overall that’s just how this frame is… It definitely took some strength and elbow grease but in the end we were able to get them all flush. The bright side of that is knowing everything is in super tight lol. Besides that part, the rest was fast and easy. But if you don’t have a lot of strength in your hands (i.e. arthritis) you’ll definitely need help on this one. The frame is very high, offering tons of storage space, which we appreciated in our small apartment. Overall, I’d recommend this frame for people looking for something simple, easy, and offering under bed storage. Aesthetically, it’s nothing fancy, but we chose to buy a king size headboard pillow to bring the whole bed together!

This was pretty easy to assemble. I had just finished assembling a cabinet, so my hands and back were already sore and tired. There were only 18 screws to put in, but they did require a lot of turning. It is not possible to turn the hex wrench in a full circle, so it required repeatedly removing it, reinserting it, and turning a partial turn. I probably would not have minded the turning had my hands been rested and ready. It was bit of a painstaking process to turn. A power drill with a hex attachment in an L shape would have been so much easier! The slats didn't need to be screwed in. They were affixed with velcro so they just stick on. That came in handy later when I was tightening up the screws as the slats were in the way so I just ripped them off and put them back after. The instructions had no words, so not the best. The only words on them said "do not screw in all the way until assembly is complete. For the life of me I don't know why. It was so much harder to screw them tight afterwards. I'd recommend screwing them all the way in except for a turn. I had mine pretty loose thinking the space would be needed for the slats or middle bar before tightening and it wasn't. Assembly aside it's solid. The legs have rubber stoppers and extras were provided if one gets lost or damaged. Two extra screws were provided as well. That's supper nice as my arthritic hands often drop little screws and they can disappear. The wood slats do have some give to them. I saw other reviewers complain about that, but that's by design. They're supposed to give a little, which is why I sought out a bed with wood slats. I topped it with a hybrid mattress that has both springs on the bottom and memory foam on the top and I'm supper happy and comfortable. It's solid and heavy... more so than I thought. Great value!

* Takes a bit of time to assemble because one must screw in and tighten about 20 machine screws using the included allen wrench - this will take more than the 10 minutes suggested by another reviewer. I recommend not tightening any of the screws until they are all partially screwed in. * The slats are plywood - so they are weaker than most solid wood slats would be. * The slats do have velcro attached (unfortunately with metal staples, not glue - I fear the staples may rust over time). The bedframe has the corresponding self-adhesive velcro pre-installed. Unfortunately, it was carelessly installed and some of the plastic bag that the bed frame pieces shipped in got stuck to the back side of that velcro. Also, some of the velcro had lots of lint stuck in it. * Each piece of the bedframe is nicely labeled with a self-adhesive white label to help assembly. But some of these stickers were difficult to remove cleanly after the bedframe was assembled. * The hardware was mostly good quality, but there was one mangled bolt included. Fortunately, a spare bolt was also included, so that wasn't a problem. * All-in-all: a reasonable value, but a little more refinement and attention to quality control and it could be a terrific product.

After sleeping on this sucker for just over a year, it occurred to me I should write a review. I hadn't even thought about it because it's been such an excellent product, I don't even think about it! This was my second one of these, the first being from that Z company. That one gave me nothing but problems for the 2 years I had it--noisy, shifting, no real support. I was hesitant to get another one of these, but circumstances required it. So I did a lot of research this time and landed on this one. This sucker is SOLID. It has been nothing but excellent. Completely silent, not a single creak or crack. Not sliding around my floor. More slats so I don't feel the need for a bunkie board like I did on the other one. All the reviews had mentioned using Loctite threadlocker on the old one so it wouldn't come apart, so when I moved, I couldn't take it apart. Not necessary on this one AT ALL. It goes together so well, I just hope I can take it apart when it's time to move again, lol. Of course with any of these, they're a little longer than the mattress. I would recommend some baby corner bumpers on the end corners, but even on this, it excels vs. the Z. I think it's not quite as extra long and the edges not as sharp. The number of scratches and bruises I had from that old one... I've only actually hit my shins on it 2x pre-bumpers. At the current price, it's a steal.
