This setup is actually pretty good for an 8” sub and amp. Sounds really good and for the price it’s an awesome package. Something to know and understand is when you add a sub it’s best to also install a new aftermarket radio with low input connection. Barely get any bass just using the factory radio with the high input connection. People talking down on this setup may have it hooked up wrong or to stock with high input. Trust me there is a big difference when connected to an aftermarket radio. It’s not going to shake the block like the 2 12s I used to have but sounds great to add good bass and takes little space. I'm used to the Walmart special and finally decided I wanted to step it up a bit to something with a stand alone amp. I did my research on YouTube on the db series amps and ALL Dyno higher than stated. The subs seemed to have great reviews so I grabbed one... OUTSTANDING JOB ROCKVILLE!!! This little 8" sub and amp, genuinely thump! Are going to make the mirror fall off, naw... Will it vibrate so hard you'll laugh trying to see traffic, sure will!!! I have a 2003 cavalier and this is almost too much according to the wife. However, I'm soo impressed for the sound vs size, I'm absolutely buying a second one to fill the trunk backing lol. Do your research, Rockville may be entry level, but it's entry level QUALITY stuff that always performs! ... show more

decent enclosure and sub. definatly an upgrade from my hideaway kicker hut the amp is underpowered for the sub causing some clipping. Had to turn it down more than id like to prevent burning up the sub. Worth the price though id say

    • You get what you pay for
There’s a reason why it’s priced so cheap. Works when it wants to, and doesn’t work when you need it to thump. The power is ok for a little bit of bass in a car with stock speakers, and that’s all I was looking for. Lasted about 2 months. I have it tuned so it’s not distorted when turned up loud, because I didn’t want to blow the speaker. Company sent me a replacement speaker on warranty, after back and forth troubleshooting. New speaker has been working for about a month, but started doing the same thing where it will work sometimes and not work randomly. The amp, box and wiring kit are pretty nice, but the speaker is trash. The 8” skar I have in my other car is way better, but costs almost double the price. ... show more

    • Already blown before I even got to use it
When I installed it in my car I realized that it was already blown and sounds horrible I bought the protection plan but they did nothing they told me I need to call the manufacture which I did and they said they couldn’t do anything
