  • Granddaughters loved them
Put the girls' bed tents up and opened these lights I'd purchased to hang inside the tents. Thought we'd have to charge them but they came fully charged! Both girls-8 & 5-are able to operate the switch and choose the color and brightness they want. I ordered these over others because they come with USB cords to recharge. ... show more

  • Really awesome, but could easily be perfect!
I've been looking for a handheld flashlight/lamp with both red (keep those pupils darkness-adjusted) and white (see more clearly). Something small that makes regular nighttime tent/outdoors stuff feel smooth and easy. Less complexity, not more. But red night lights have a constraint: if they default to bright/white and you have to cycle settings to get to red, your pupils have already lost. There are two (TWO!!!) compact lights/flashlights on the market that you can start on red, and this isn't one of them. (those two have other problems). This goes green - blue - red when it's in color mode. For me, it's a real problem, and it seems unnecessary, unhelpful, and trivial to solve -- just go R-G-B maybe? But its design is otherwise SO much better than everything else, so I'm happy. They got the basics so, so right rather than overbuilding the feature set, and I love it: - dual stand / hook design is great and clever; perfect as a lamp - awesome as a flashlight -- light and grippable, and it'll light a forest path for both the holder *and* others - warm white! speaks for itself. - while you do have to click through blue/green before red in RGB mode, at least white mode starts on warm to avoid blindness - you don't have to click through other/brighter colors to turn it off, which is another problem with other lights - you also don't have to click through awful strobe effects or million-lumen whites that'll blind a whole forest. I seriously saw strobing marketed as "fight off an attacker!". sure you will buddy. sure. - USB charging and plenty of life. But still: start on red with the next model, please pretty please. On top of that, a couple tweaks could make it even better: - add a half-brightness soft white setting -- the warm white is awesome but still too bright to look around the tent in the middle of the night without waking my partner. - the light bulb look is unique/fun, balanced, and fine to grip, but this isn't a lightbulb and it doesn't benefit from looking like one, naked bulbs aren't really sexy. a more elegant/neutral design would feel better in more settings, and could be more natural as a handheld. ... show more

  • Great LED Camping Lights
These looked like a "good idea" but I wasn't sure if they'd live up to expectations, but the lights are really nice. They have a nice brightness to them and you can select either a white light or a colored light. There are two lights in the package, which is nice for the price point. Once on, you hold down the button for a few seconds to change from white to color mode, and if you press the button, you sequence through the options for that color mode. The white light options are warm, cool, and in between. The instructions mark these as 2100K, 6500K and 3500K. I think the 3500K color are two LEDs lit at the same time, as this seems to also be the brightest setting. When in color mode, it cycles through green, blue, red and an RGB mode that slowly and smoothly changes colors. Overall, it's a nice selection. They are all plastic, lightweight, and small enough to fit in a pocket (if you wanted to). On the bottom, there are two opposing hooks that open up. You can use both, like tied to a cord, or use one to hook into something. When opened all the way, the hooks form a base that allows you to stand the light up on a table. These work pretty well, but anything I take to the field is likely to get banged up and things like these hooks tend to get knocked off or broken. It would have been nice if there was a lanyard hole in the base, so you could more firmly attach a lanyard, even if the hooks were broken. These are bright enough where they would easily light up a tent or walking at night. There is no way to dim them, but the red light could work as a night light (it's actually brighter than I'd want a night light, but would be good for kids and for those not bothered by light when trying to sleep). I fully charged the lights and ran them to see how long they would last on a charge. One light was on the 3500K setting and the other on the red color, as these are likely the two modes I'd use these lights the most. The white light lasted almost 6 hours, while the red light lasted just over 19 hours. Somewhere between 19 and 20 hours the light just turned off. I was able to turn it back on, which is nice in case you needed just a little bit more light when stuck in the dark. Somewhere between 18 and 19 hours, I noticed the red light had dimmed enough that I could easily tell. It still was pretty bright, but not as bright the other one with a fresh charge (see pic). Even though it had been 19 hours, the red light was still bright enough to see easily in a dark room - and that's walking in from a bright room. Once my eyes adjusted, it would have been enough light to do stuff around a tent. It was more than bright enough to read a map (using red to not ruin your natural night vision). When charging the lights, there is a dim red light in the bulb showing it's charging and turns green when charged. The instructions say to charge it every 3 months if not in use and to not use if not charged for more than 12 months. Seems like an over abundance of caution, but these are handy enough that I can see using them often. Would I buy it again or recommend this to friend: Yes. ... show more

  • Nice portable light
We purchased when dry camping in our camper so the kids had a light in their bunks. They would last a full night before we needed to recharge. Only complaint was there was no white light- only colors which was kind of odd. Kids did not mind of course.
