I spend a LOT of time on the road. Im jammin the entire time. Right now its my coping mechanism. Going through a lot and all I want to do is just cruise around in my almost 40MPG car and listen to my car stereo. I do this a couple times a week to clear my head. The bass is pumping the entire time. If i turn off the stereo the negative thoughts return, so it stays on and it stays loud. I used to own a car audio business. Ive done THOUSANDS of installs. Its wired correctly. 4 Gauge wire grounded to the seat post 14" from amp. 8 gauge ultra fine thread wire to positive, and a 14 gauge remote. High quality RCAs. Everything is tight. Amp sits on floorboard and YES I checked and NO the floorboard is NOT warm. Its Very well insulated. Last night after cruising around for about an hour or so while searching for a walking trail, the amp started clipping off. When I pulled in the drive a few minutes later I touched the top of the amp and it was so hot that it literally burnt my finger. We're talking go inside and put some burn cream on it hot. (I didn't.. but some would have). I'm running ONE 10" FUBR DVC sub in stereo. NOT EVEN BRIDGED! Its only seeing a 2 Ohm load! Imagine if I tried to run a 1 Ohm load off this thing! It wouldn't last 10 minutes! Ive spent my entire life hooking up and selling old Orion, PPI, Fosgate, Alpine, etc. The old stuff made in the USA is just so much better. Heck i have a CRUNCH amp in my Sprinter that I can crank for 4 hours straight! To a Graphite DD 15!!! It will blur your vision! I can't seem to find an amp in 2022 that i can afford that will do anywhere close to what my 25 watts per channel HCCA will do. Not even close. Its 1/2 Ohm stable! This Rockwood is ALL BUT CINGING THE CARPET at 2 Ohms. Pathetic. Just plain Pathetic. So disgusted. I bought this amp after researching the heck out of car amps. I watched countless videos online and spent several days researching. This looked like the best choice. It wasn't. Im considering returning it! Im an Amazon Vine member, and I review things in exchange for items but I PAID FULL PRICE FOR THIS AMP, so if you see my Vine badge just know this was NOT part of the Vine program. I paid money from MY credit card (in full.. same amount you would pay) for this amp. I did NOT get this amp for free or a reduced price. Just clarifying that point. I honestly expected better. I went back and forth between "should I buy a dedicated sub amp or not" and decided on NO, both amps have the same basic power and are basically stable for the same amount of Ohms, but the non-dedicated sub amp has more versatility. I may decide later to use it for mids and tweets or a pair of mid-bass speakers, and I can't do either if I buy a dedicated sub amp. So thats what ill do. Ill have to live with its SHORT duration of use till I can find a REAL amp, probably 25 years old or more, at a yard sale somewhere. Because this one just can't handle the power it creates without overheating. Disappointed. Now should I return it? Thats my next question. Lemme think on that. ... show more

At first when I was looking for a good amp to use on my dual 10” star subs I wasn’t sure what would be a good amp so I read some other reviews on this amp and I got mixed reviews some say it’s good and some say it’s not. Well I’ll tell you what based off my review this amp is amazing. It is fully adjustable it is easy to setup really nice quality sounds amazing. The bass knob is smooth to turn and it has light indicators on it which is nice, this amp has my car shaking with my dual 10” star subs. I highly recommend this amp!
