The media could not be loaded. Okay at first, it was such a big contrast in sound quality with the skar 1200.1 that I wasn't sure if I considered it an upgrade. It all depends on your tastes. Of course it's way more powerful than the skar. But the skar had this huge response in the 40-80hz range that would just bang. There's no other way to put it, it would just bang violently on the bass kick. So much it would hurt your neck. It was on two skar svr 12. At max volume I think it caused a stress response in my body. Tense shoulders, etc from the bang because of how punchy it was. But the skar definitely sounded cleaner, tighter, absolutely more accurate and defined. And in that upper 40-70hz area it was definitely louder. Enter the taramps. This is a way different sound. And for the most part I'm enjoying it better. It hits way deeper, and way more powerfully, naturally. It's now on two American bass xfl 12s. And barely even pushing half it's power according to the LED gauge on the amp. It's real powerful. And I'm at 1 ohm not 0.5 yet. The response is totally different. It seems to not play very loudly above 50hz or so. Even when I turn the crossover up to 200hz, it's barely letting anything through above 60. It could be the subs, but I'm inclined to think it's the amp because of how little the crossover does above 60 or so. But I like it! I feel so much more power and deep plowing bass without feeling like it's just hurting my ears lol. It's Hella loud don't get me wrong, and it hasn't even gotten started yet. But it's frequency response makes it get super loud without feeling like my ears are being bombed with each bass kick. It's like a softer, more rhompy, yes very sluggish like people say. But also I'm hearing the highs better... Because that slight sluggish response causes the bass to kind of chug and groan instead of being all uppidy and in your face. Plus, it definitely is sending out waves way, way further than most less powerful amps because of how deep it's hitting. Of course combined with the American bass. I wish I had tried it with the skars to see what it sounded like. But no doubt the American bass are twice as loud at least. But I still would be curious. Anyway if you want seriously deep, powerful and far traveling bass (for those of you who are into that), you probably won't get more for your money. I personally don't like the attention and I turn it down at stop lights and residential. Don't get this for rock and metal or other more articulate music. This amp wants to blast strong clean lows and flex your car like pudding while doing it. I'm sure there's more you could do with it, with some different subs or EQ maybe. But just know, for me compared to skar, it's not fast responding at all. It's very much a fat, boomy, thick and wobbly, car flexing bass on these xfl at least. But I've been finding myself bobbing my head more and the bass is so deep now that it does definitely sound like I have 15s in my Chevy cruze. The American bass xfl are working good on this, and the box isn't even right yet. It's still a 4 cube, minimum spec. 4-5 is what American bass recommends so I'm betting a 5cu would really open these up. It isn't getting hot at 1 ohm. The fans screech. I don't like that at all. But they only tend to get loud when the music is loud. And once it cools down they get decently quiet again. Just know that. The fan noise isa definite con unless you have the amp tucked away enough. Mine is 2 feet from me. Seats are down. It's mounted to the seat. So for me the fans are pretty loud. As far as power, I put an XS d3400 in here. I have all stock electrical on a 2018 Chevy cruze. Seems to go all the way to clip point and stay above 14v. So the battery is damn impressive too. The picture is right after install, before all the wires are being re-run and cleaned up. It's very compact and extremely lightweight for its power capability. Edit: ive now ran this maybe 6 months. After the subs broke in, it's not sounding sloppy anymore. And the fans are quiet now, they only kick on if you're cranking the music for a long time. But also my amp is in free air. I'm very impressed with the sound quality for being high power, 12 inch driver, ported box, and crossed over at 50hz... You would not think that at all when hearing it play some brighter, cleaner music they blend right in. Imo the xfl 12s, and this smart bass 3 are a very nice pairing. Every person's system I listen to frankly sounds like it's got so much room for improvement. I have heard maybe 30 peoples systems and I've yet to hear anything even close in terms of quality and power as mine. And if I let them hear mine they say it's the best they've heard. And I spent a lot less. For the price, I'm very happy with this amp for the lows. I think the subs just took a damn long time for them to break in. Pray to God I never blow them lol. But yeah i needed to update that. This amp, for me, is providing a great balance of Sq in my SPL setup. And even with a prefab box (the infamous skar 4 cube prefab), the lows already sound awesome. Has no problem bombing down to 24hz and can still impress down as low as 20hz if you pump up the bass knob a bit. If you play anything below 40hz it sounds like a bomb going off outside. I took a video at about half power, which right now is my max because if I try and max it on my stock wiring, the subs will start to clip and smell. I have all the big 3 ran, awaiting to be connected, just need a lift. But even with stock 4 awg wiring, it's doing decently. I'm betting the subs are only getting like 1k of clean RMS right now until I upgrade my electrical. And they already are unnecessarily loud. This setup sounds phenomenal. Also, I gotta do it. Thanks, Parker 😂😂. He's the one who got me on the American bass train. American bass and taramps are some of his favorites. Mine too now. ... show more

  • Budget friendly for power
Giving 5 stars for this product because it was a big upgrade coming from an audio pipe amp. Only downside is that you’re gonna have to run reducers for the 0 gauge that this amp requires because the input is more on the 4 gauge side. But other than that great product , would recommend it time and time again. The power is there and for the price you can’t beat it. ... show more

  • I wan't impressed, until...
I chose this amp because I was running an older 1 ohm amp at .5 ohms. That amp would hit extremely deep and hard but, it would cut off for about 5 minutes if I pushed to higher levels. When I put this amp in, I wasn't impressed at all. The bass was no where near as strong and it would cut off very easily. I immediately started a return for the amp then realized that could take up to 30 days. I decided to wait and try a few things first. After upgrading my head unit, adding a 200ah battery and an epicenter, this amp is pushing out EVERYTHING that it says it can push out! My subwoofers started popping from all of the extra power, so I had to rewire my subs to 2 ohms. This thing sounds AWESOME!!! Definitely turning heads! I highly recommend this amp and I also highly recommend that you have your electrical ready for this amp and add at least a Line Driver to increase the bass response. The built in bass boost was disappointing to me. I don't use it. Also, you need to know that this amp seems to thrive in the lower 30's on down... ... show more

  • Great Amp for a great price!
Beyond happy at this point with this purchase. I am running it on two 18" subs in the back of an F150. I did add a second agm battery. No complaints. I hit a 146.7 at my first competition before the build was complete. Since then I have added sound deadener and higher rms speakers. It was easy to switch out my old RF amp 800a2 for this 3k. I also have a Taramp 400x4 for my doors. Make sure you upgrade your power wire don't use 8 gauge wire!. I have 0 gauge run. ... show more

  • Welp after 2 ish year it finally blew up
Driving home today and I was just getting off work and I turned on some mf 42 dugg (spindatbac) and it clips out at half volume plays distortion for two seconds then I look back and it’s a cloud of smoke I’m doing 45 into a church parking lot to unplug it. Other than that it’s a great amp 4.2 stars 👍 ... show more

  • Slams hard
Budget amp that hits the hardest. I recommend running double 0g ofc wire, it is very power hungry and can actually push 7800 watts at .5ohms

  • NO OUTPUT
Worked well for a month and a half but no longer outputs power to the subs, i was pushing 2500w rms on a nsv4 12 and just stopped playing randomly while driving. I cant recommend it.

  • Good cheap power
The media could not be loaded. Don't listen what to people say about taramps, set your cross overs good and it'll sound great. I've got it paired to 2 vxf 12s and they sound great. Make sure you have good electrical. I have a 320 amp alt on a standard lead acid battery and have put it into protect a few times due to voltage drop. Invest in some lithium or even a bunch of AGM batteries. It's not "power hungry" like people say, it just really puts out what it says it does. Most 3k watt amps really do 1500 to 2k after box rise. This really does 3k. So make sure you have supporting mods. I've had it for almost a year now and I don't baby it and haven't had any issues ... show more
