...so you know it's going to bring the house down even when being powered by an inexpensive Fosgate R500X1D amp (mounted to some painted aluminum rails on top). That being said, it's not shy about rattling the windows - yours or any other passersby; however, that wasn't why I purchased this particular driver. I've always, *always* used 10" drivers in my builds but, this time, I decided to go with a single 12". I had originally purchased a pre-fabbed sealed enclosure because I simply didn't want to go to all the trouble of fabricating a box. However, the box I'd purchased sported a volume that was a tad on the lacking side for this driver. Fosgate recommends 1.02 ft³ for this driver in a sealed enclosure but my prefabbed box only had 0.90 ft³, and that's *before* taking into account displacement of the 12" driver (0.11 ft³) so, all in all, I would have approximately 0.78 ft³ which is about 25% smaller than what is recommended by Fosgate. Admittedly, I did find the driver's performance lacking, to say the least, with my prefabbed monstrosity so...*sigh* I built a box. The resultant sound is far, far superior to what was afforded with the prefabbed build. While the time and expense are quite a bit more than most people would probably (ideally) prefer, and the required tools are most likely not in the average person's garage/armory, your end-result will be far superior if you simply take the time to do it and do it right. In the end, I am quite pleased with the results and would highly recommend this driver if you're looking for something affordable, that produces some amazing sound, and will most assuredly not disappoint. ... show more

I purchased two of these and put in a ported box. Currently running a JL Audio 1200 watt monoblock amp to these at a two ohm load. These sound really nice. I am not out to win a sound competition, but if you want something that hits hard and is durable, look no further. I know these would hit tighter in a sealed enclosure, but I prefer the low boomy sound. These are fairly beefy at approx. 21 pounds per sub. They are rated at 600 watts RMS. Although there are better subs out there if you want to spend more, these are a steal for what you pay. You get more than what you pay for. I don't always blast my bass, but I do like good sound quality. These even sound good at low volume. If you are looking to spend $800 per sub so you can blow your windshield out, you need to look elsewhere. If you appreciate good sound as well as quality without breaking the bank, these have your name stamped on them. I currently have my amp gain set no higher than 75%, however these will move your hair. The box I have is slightly smaller than recommended specs. These do like lots of air space if you put them in a vented enclosure. I'm thinking the slightly smaller box is helping them hit some of the mid bass notes. These will not disappoint. ... show more

This sub is GREAT! I have one in a ported box 1.8 ft2 with aeroports, tuned to 35 hz. It hits hard and clean, and sounds so much better than my old Boss Sub or my Pioneer champion sub. If you want more bass, go with a brand like Orion or Skar. Sure there are better subwoofers out there, but Not for $130! You get an awesome subwoofer for your money! If you want more bass, you need to get some 15" or 18" subwoofers from a decent. This subwoofer has great clarity, control and power. I have been impressed with its performance, there is a reason this has such high reviews, people are amazed at the quality and power they can get for a decent price. I have absolutely nothing bad to say about the subwoofer, so it gets 5 stars! IMPRESSIVE! ***Update*** - I have recently used this subwoofer with my home theater system, powered by only 300 watts, and MAN does it hit! Works so well for a home theater sub, I am truly impressed with its performance in this role. A Very versatile, powerful and accurate subwoofer. Look no further, this will work for your application!     • Incredible! Here is some advice

Let me start out by offering some helpful advice. This comes in two models, the 2 and 4 ohm. these are dual voice coils, meaning the 2 ohm model can be wired at 1 or 4 ohms (I wired mine at 4) and the 4 ohm can be wired at 2 or 8 ohms. This makes getting the 4 ohm model better for a single speaker. I wired my 2 ohm model at 4 ohms and powered it with the Hilfonics 1800W class D monoblock (always buy a class D with this speaker to avoid overheating. Stay away from the cheaper class A/B amps, and give it plenty of power!) and let me just say this thing PUMPS OUT BASS. Trust me when I tell you that this is all you need to make your system alive and dynamic. I went from listening to some mediocre tunes at about 80% volume, and the bass set to -3 to prevent distortion in my 2013 Nissan Altima, to being overwhelmed by the volume of sound when I turn my radio to just 60%. 80 and 90% are just downright dangerously powerful! And this is all in a sealed enclosure for a tighter sound. If you are looking for a nice high end sub for your vehicle, look no further. Just drop it in your cart. ... show more

After moving from a 2-day old (!!!) failed Pioneer subwoofer to this Punch, I couldn't be happier. I wanted a sub to add a little more to my already great car sound system, and this unit delivers what I was expecting. On a small sealed box, it can make everything around to shake when pushed to the higher volumes, but at regular listening mode it is a solid, clear and deep bass that matches the HiFi system on my living room. It also has a professional, high quality look. I could have gone with the pricier competition, but based off what I have heard on pricier systems on friends' trucks to what I got, I am not missing anything - in fact, I saved enough to get the amp, box and all wirings for cheaper than the competition. I didn't expect what I got and what I got was a lot of loud, high quality sound from these subwoofers. (I've got two of them @ 2ohms) The new cones on these definitely produce more sound that the old ones. I actually had to turn my bass level down because they're so loud! 👍🏻

Edit: I have paired these subs with a mono SoundQubed SQ2200.1. Only running it at 2 ohms (its 1 ohm stable all day) and these things are now even more brutal!! Oold amp was a bass inferno Bi3000, so about 200 watts per sub, now theyre getting over 500 per. Killer subs for the $130 each I paid for them! Just wish i would have got the dual 4 ohm to get my amp at 1 ohm The last pair of subs I bought was a pair of HE2s back in 99 and they still work. I beat the cap out of them too! A couple of holes in the foam surround accidentally caused by me is their only fault. The longevity of those subs(to be completely fair, I was powering them with the cleanest power I can think of, an A/D/S/ 2 channel) lead me to purchase RF again, and I'm very pleased!! The only issue is now I need dynomat lol these things simply destroy! ! And at this price point, I'm actually kinda shocked that they hit this dam hard! Very satisfied customer :) This ad does show 2 different versions of the p3, mine is the one shown in the last pic ... show more
