Basically before I bought this and read though all of the semi negative reviews. My opinion though is that the machine isn't very top heavy surprisingly. I am a beginner tattoo artist and honestly it's pretty easy to set up. The battery takes at least 1.5 hours or more to charge for a 1 hour long tattoo.

I'm a part-time tattoo artist and this little set works very well. Has everything you need to practice and use. The inks are great for using as practice inks on fake skin but not too sure for real skin. I love the size of the gun and the battery lasted for hours before needing recharging. Great for tattoo artists on the go or while traveling. I love the quietness of this machine and take it with me when I travel abroad or to different states. Thank You.

I had high hopes for this $28 pen machine... boy was I mistaken. When I first opened the package, the soft case appeared to be very nice. The case was soft but firm, although, the zipper is plastic so that felt pretty awful. Once I opened the case I noticed everything was just kind of stuffed inside like someone packing 30 outfits for a 3 day vacation. The battery for the machine is pretty straight forward, though it starts at 10 volts as soon as you power it on for like 1.5 seconds, which I'm sure is fine for a little while, but the machine is rated for 8 volts MAX. The motor assemby was loosely screwed into the machine, and after I screwed it back tight, the machine would NOT maintain proper connection with the power supply, it felt very loose and ANY amount of motion would cause the machine to lose connection to the battery. I even tried the battery on another of my machines and had no issue, so the battery is overall pretty good. The inks are cheap crap and very runny, the cartridge couldn't even hold the red ink in the flow chamber. I bought a $32 dragonhawk tattoo kit and the sketchy cheap little inks that came with that kit were far better than the ones in this kit. I have given myself a few tattoos with cheap sketchy ink, but I was leery about putting these inks into my skin. Overall, in my opinion, there are kits out there that are VERY similar in price to this one with much better quality. I would not buy this again.
