    • Lot's of fun and easy enough for a 5-yr old to fly solo

I just ordered another one of these; not because there was a problem with the first one, but rather because on our 15th launch yesterday we managed to get the rocket hung about 40' up in a tree that is about 450' from our launch point. I was surprised at how much fun this is. My 5-yr old grandson is fascinated by flight and rockets so we thought this would be a good birthday present for him. "Good" was an understatement. After the first couple of demonstration launches he did everything himself and loved every minute of it. He'd launch, chase, recover and repack the parachute without any help from me. My only job was to stand downwind in the field and help him spot it after it landed. Although the construction looks flimsy, the foam body is actually very forgiving and after one hard landing it was easy to fix a cracked wing with some CA is cellophane tape. We must have launched it about 40 times on the first day before we had to recharge its (any my) battery. As others have noted, you do have to be careful about the wind, especially if you launch with the 8-second engine run. Yesterday's misadventure with the tree happened because of a wind shift that took the landing rocket about 90deg off from the expected drift. Live and learn. Believe me, you and whatever kids you launch with will have a blast. ... show more

First rocket was awesome. So awesome that after the 3 rd launch it got stuck in a tree. Second one the parachute did not come out and one of the fins broke off. Disappointed.

This rocket is awesome. Comes fully charged and the setup is simple. Very light so the wind takes it away easily but it’s super cool and can be used over and over again without needing to be charged between launches.
