  • Love the Roborock Q Revo - Update: 3 months later
Update - 3 months later: Still loving it! I can’t believe that we had this vacuum cleaner only 3 months. It feels longer. Based on the statistics it has cleaned now the main living area in our house for 236hrs and with a combined cleaned area of 10,000 square meters (roughly 107k sqft). We have it running every day. As mentioned in our original review, we have set the schedule to clean each room separately so that the dust bin gets emptied in between as it clogs up if the debris is too compressed. The other day I noticed that the vacuum is running noisier than I remembered and it did not pick up the golden glitter (dog hair). Turns out, I forgot to wash the filter out. Since it takes a little while to get the filter dry, I will now start to alternate between two filters so that the vacuum can run as scheduled and the washed filter can dry for a couple days. I still love it. We have not experienced any major issues with this robot vacuum. The original review stands as written. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ I totally love this robot cleaner. We have two golden retrievers and a cat. There is lots of dog hair in our house. I was never sure whether a robot cleaner would work for us. Our Roborock Q Revo is doing its best to convince us. We run it daily to vacuum/mop. We purchased this Roborock during the October Prime days. This is our first robotic cleaner. Here are some of the things we learned: 1. Definitely need to divide into rooms and schedule each room separately: this robot vacuum does not know when the small dust bin in the robot is full and that it would make sense to go back to the main station to empty (we run it on ‘customized’ - first vacuum, then mop). In order to make it go back and get emptied, we have in each schedule only 1 room. We left enough time between the schedules to allow the washing of the mop pads to finish before the next schedule (room) is started. We had it run a couple rooms in the initial schedule setup but it compressed the dog hair so much in that small robot dust bin that when it is back at the dock, the compressed debris got stuck during auto empty. 2. You will need an active wifi/internet connection in order for the schedule to run. We had a total internet outage in our area: the robot did not know to run. You can start the robot manually but it will try to clean the whole house - this is not feasible with the dog hair we have. 3.1 Maintenance 1: in our case, we have to check weekly for any dog hair rolled up at the edge of the roller and remove it. 3.2 Maintenance 2: the tray at the base station, on which the mop pads are washed, is removable and requires a rinse off. The good thing is that it is removable. This was something I did not know to check for when I was looking at robot vacuums. This is definitely a positive point being able to remove the washing tray. 3.3 Maintenance 3: There is an expectation that the filter is washed out about every two weeks. Something that is absolutely necessary in this household. 3.4 Maintenance 4: Roborock is providing a list of maintenance items in their app and they keep track of the status for most of the maintenance items. 3.5. Maintenance 5: Dustbag in main station: I read somewhere that the expectation is that the dustbag lasts 6-7 weeks. Not here - way too much dog hair; we check once a week. In our household it lasts about 1.5 - 2 weeks. Oh - and I prefer the dust bags. I had a name brand fancy bagless vacuum. It was okay while we had only a cat. But adding 1 dog made me switch back to a vacuum with a dustbag because not all the hair could be removed from the bagless vacuum debris container. Now with 2 dogs and a cat, I needed extra help as we need to vacuum at least once per day. 4. Obstacle detection: may run over/into something. But this was something I knew ahead of ordering. My understanding is that the higher end versions of roborock have a better obstacle detection. 5. Auto wash and dry of mop pads. This is a big plus! 6. Detects rugs automatically and lifts the mop pads! It provides also statistics. So far, our Q Revo has cleaned 27394 sqft total in 60 hrs. In summary: we love this machine. Wishes we have for it: - auto detection when robot dust bin is full to return to dock to empty it and then continuing to clean. - that is runs even if internet is out (in my case by room or resolve first wish). You can start it manually but it will run the whole house cleaning. ... show more

  • Works well, want a 2nd
We’ve had ours for about 6 months and couldn’t be happier. We switched to this from Roomba and are already considering a 2nd one for upstairs. It does really straight and clean lines and is really good/sensitive with objects especially compared to roomba. It also has a really easy app user face that maps your home and you can customize to your liking, and even senses different floor textures. I would highly recommend, only thing I wish was different is I wish the pieces in the base were easier to clean. There are some nooks and crannies in the water basins and the cleaning tray that are harder to reach with a sponge, but other than that it’s extremely efficient and effective at cleaning your floors. ... show more

  • Review of ROBOROCK Q Revo After 16 Months of Ownership
Review of ROBOROCK Q Revo Original Purchase Date: August 17, 2023 Summary of Issues: Number of Returns: Four robot replacements from ROBOROCK and one repair by Asurion within the first 15 months of ownership. Specific Dates of Previous Returns: • October 2023: Replacement #1 • January 2024: Replacement #2 • April 2024: Replacement #3 • August 2024: Replacement #4 • November 2024: Repair (return #5) by Asurion as per the Multiple Device Protection Plan (Amazon subscription) • Current Issue (December 2024): Repair of the malfunctioning dock by Asurion has failed. On first operation on return of the robot to me, the mop fill feature of the dock failed again. This dock issue leading to repeated flooding of the floor was supposed to have been addressed by Asurion, and was declared fixed prior to shipping the machine back to me. Key Points Supporting Why I Would Not Recommend This ROBOROCK Model: 1. Repeated Failures Demonstrate a Defective Product: • Each of the original and replacement Q Revo robots failed within a few months of receipt. • This consistent failure rate over 15 months is indicative of a systemic flaw in the product, not isolated or random incidents. • The observed trend of failure aligns with principles in science and statistics that identify repeated outcomes as evidence of an inherent defect. 2. Cost Analysis Highlights Inefficiency and Impact on Customer Satisfaction: • Arranging for returns, repairs, replacements, and shipping every few months imposes unnecessary costs in terms of money and time. • The process causes significant frustration, time loss, and physical strain from the requirement to repackage and transport the failed robot and its dock to UPS for returns. • The weight of the packed robot and dock creates a physical challenge. No, ROBOROCK does not pay for the shipping labels with UPS pick-up. Thus, you must repack the machine (always keep original boxes for such items), wrestle the heavy and quite awkward box into your vehicle and then again into the UPS store. Have a nice day. • Loss of function means additional burden on the consumer to take over the function or be resigned to living with dirty floors until the machine is replaced or repaired (typically 3 to 4 weeks turnaround time). • Continued repairs or replacements are not practical or fair to the consumer. 3. Request for Refund after Exhausting all Options: • Over the past 16 months, I have given the product as well as Roborock’s and Asurion's replacement/repair processes every opportunity to work. • Despite these efforts, the Q Revo has proven repeatedly unreliable. • Therefore, refund of the original purchase price is the most reasonable and equitable resolution. As I explained to Amazon customer support this morning, December 2024 marks my sixth request for assistance with this machine in, now, 16 months of ownership. Conclusion: Given the repeated failures, the observed trend of defects, and the continued inconvenience, I strongly recommend against purchase of this particular model from Roborock. The ROBOROCK Q Revo is a flawed model, which is my personal opinion based on my scientific observations of my experiences with it. Thankfully, I purchased this machine on Amazon, which has the best customer support services of any company that I’ve dealt with. Fortunately, for me, Amazon stands by it guarantees and with its customers. Final Note: I’m a simple shopper, like most people, looking for best products and deals in the most effective and efficient means possible. Unfortunately, there are reviews that do not reflect my miserable experience with this model, specifically multiple robots of this model over the past year and a half. How might it be possible that my experience with every one of these Q Revo robots that repeatedly failed (either robot or dock) be different from that of a bunch of influencers claiming they got this model as a gift and here’s their honest review… ... show more
