Hip surgery restricted movement. Love the grabbers as I am always dropping things on the floor and can’t retrieve the dogs bowl. I carry the shorter one around in a cloth bag hanging off my walker. Sock helper must be for lumberjacks. My socks don’t spread that big. Haven’t figured out the dressing sticks but my husband has shoulder problems and perhaps he can use them. The leg lifter is a great help and allows me Indepence in caring for my needs. Overall a useful buy.

Update: The grabbers are a little better than I first thought. I was able to pick up pills. However it was very difficult to pick up my cell phone. I had to get it on its side to pick it up and because the grabbers don’t lock it would slip out. The bath sponge is a little too big. I also wish there was something smaller to get in between your toes on it too. Because of these issues I gave them 4 stars not 5. I bought this set mainly because of the grabbers and I am disappointed in them. I like how they can turn different angles but have a hard time picking up certain things with them. I can’t pick up a paper, my cell phone or a pill if I drop it. Also there is no magnetic to grab pins or things like that. I have an older grabber that has suction cups on the bottom that allows me to pick up almost anything with including a small pill. I love the sock holder. It seems like it works well. I did have the rope slip out once but it was easy to fix. The leg lifter works good. Shoe horn is plastic but works well. I use the clothes assist rod quite a bit. I would say that is the best thing in this kit. I have not used the bath sponge yet so I can’t really comment on that. I will update this after I use it.

I just had a total hip replacement, and I feel grateful I bought this kit. The “grabbers” are very good quality and more reliable/better than others that clamp from only one direction. I literally was able to pick a quarter up from off the floor while it was laying flat on the floor: in one try, no less! (Trying to keep the floor clear of anything the crutches or walking sticks could slip on.) The most surprisingly- useful tool is the canvas leg-lifter, with a triangular canvas strap end that slides over the foot, allowing you to lift the surgical leg up onto the bed with zero pain. It has a flexible metal “spine” along its length that makes it really easy to target the foot, even when hopped up on pain meds. I didn’t even think about this item until it came in the kit, and it has provided the most utility of any of the items. It makes getting into bed by myself absolutely easier. The one item I thought would be the most useful was the dressing stick. It wasn’t; it was perhaps the least useful. It bends too easily and didn’t help nearly as much as I thought it would. Putting on socks is the biggest challenge in dressing, so the “sock-getter-onner” was more useful and made the dressing stick somewhat superfluous. I live alone and did not have any help. This kit made it much easier to do some big things and lots of little things so that I didn’t need to hire or inconvenience anyone to help.

A good selection of tools to aid your reach after joint replacement. I found it particularly helpful for reach (the grabber) and getting dressed using the sock-putter-oner (whatever you call it) and the extended shoe horn.

A little leary about the price BUT, once I started using all of the gadgets, amazing. Really helps after hip replacement and before; I was able to put shoes and socks on, dress by myself and the leg lift helped getting in and out of bed less painful. The grabber, large and small, work great. I use them often... sometimes just for the fun of it. 😉 Highly recommend this product.
