  • Best drivers for the best performance.
Style: Recorder
Don’t be fooled by the other guys pushing Thunderbolt down your throat. If you’re on the hunt for the lowest latency in the box THIS is it. The only other recommendation would be the UFC ii if you needed the extra ins/outs. The routing matrix is phenomenal. The little LCD screen gives you everything you need to know. The sound is crystal clear. Fits nice on any desktop. And performs far and above better than some other popular DSP hardware manufacturer that would cost double for same amount of IO. Get this. Windows, Mac, whatever. If you’re looking at it you already know what you’re looking for and this is it. ... show more

  • Game changer
Style: Recorder
This is a real game changer. I have had many high priced Audio Interfaces but this far exceeds the “other” big brand names. I was blown away by the clarity and how much it made something simple like amp sims sound way better. I never heard audio before RME. Total Mix Fx is brilliant and before I purchased this I was afraid of it because reviews that claimed it was too hard to figure out. Watch YouTube tutorials on it and it will open so many possible ways to route audio. ... show more

  • Awesome record quality/ Rme is a great product it especially shines on live recording
Style: Recorder
This audio interface is the best I’ve ever owned!! I’ve owned Motu and presonus interfaces they were adequate but, the sound quality of the rme above these previously mentioned interfaces. The sound stage is wider more obvious depth in the sound!!

  • Good hardware, horrible software
Style: Recorder
The device itself? Pretty good. IF you can get it working with the utter garbage that is the total mix software that comes with it. It is probably some of the worst software I've had the displeasure of using in my life. Half the time I can't get it to do the simplest things! I want the audio from my computer to be outputted to my soundbar. Okay. First we select main. Then we have to select the main output to SPDIF. Then we go to the USB settings for the UCX II, select SPDIF out for the optical port. Then we turn up the levels on the Software Inputs, sound is being received, it's going to main, aannnnnnnnnnd NOTHING. It was working before, but NOPE. I press one button to try and save the view and now everything is broken again. This software is so unintuitive, despite watching their whole YouTube series, and being a software engineer, I CAN'T FIGURE THIS DAMN THING OUT. Hours. Upon hours. Wasted. $1500. Wasted. Save yourself the headache here and get something that you can actually use. ... show more

  • WOW! Extremely sophisticated sound......Truely astonishing!
Style: Recorder
I wont get into the crazy details or features of this unit, because there are tons of YouTube videos that go in-depth into all the features, and trust me, there are A LOT of features. There are so many features and menu options, display options...its utterly insane. The book that comes with it is as thick as a scientific text book...no joke. This device is for a professional, 100%, but doesn't mean someone like me can't enjoy it! SOUND: I bought this so that I can connect 4 large, high-end Focal studio monitors, plus a 12" studio sub, and play audio on all 6 outputs simultaneously without compromising sound quality. After days of room treatment and speaker placement, I eventually ended up connecting the RME and setting it up on my PC. Alright, now, I'm going to be 100% transparent.... This is the best of the best as far as sound, bar none. Even though their are room modes, DAC conversion process variables, and crazy EQ options built into this monster, playing music through this unit as-is, with none of the settings touched, has transformed my listening experience to a whole different dimension. If there is 1 word to describe the sound, I would say sophisticated...VERY VERY VERY sophisticated. BASS hits super-hard, but smooth at the same time. A lot of texture in the low, and super-low frequencies....it's very impressive. I'm hearing things I've never heard before. NOW I know what "flat" sounds like. It's opened up my Adam Audio studio monitors and they sound like bass canons when playing undergound electronic music like deep progressive techno, ambient dub techno, and atmospheric breakbeat.....as they should, since the producers of the music have made the music to sound exactly like that. ** Another thing to note, the bass hits hard, but it's super-tight. It's effortless, as well. The drivers barely move, and you can't even tell the studio monitors are on, but the bass is thunderous.....so much headroom to go louder. MIDS are just ridiculous....laughable almost. Warm, a lot of impact, and they are portrayed in a way where my speakers are not under stress. Absolutely gorgeous. The sound is thick and meaty. HIGHS are crystal clear, but nothing that would hurt the ears or cause fatigue after hours and hours of playback. My setup sounds like a hi-fi system. Audiophile level for sure. I rate this an 11 out of 10....that's how good it is. It's extremely sophisticated, and I see this lasting over 20 years, even with heavy usage. ... show more
