Description

Push invites you to disconnect and be fully in the moment with your music. Sculpt your sound. Play in a style that’s recognizably yours. An upgradeable instrument and an ever-evolving bond with Ableton Live, Push is designed to sit at the heart of your setup for years to come. Shape your sound with pads that respond to the slightest movement of your fingers. Bend, slide and shift between different notes, sounds and articulations. Plug your instruments into Push’s own audio interface to record straight into your set. Plus, send CV and gate signals to your modular setup. Push’s 64 XY-sensitive pads respond to the subtlest shifts in finger placement and pressure. Feel your way around the pads to fluidly change your sound in multiple ways as you play. Each pad features multiple articulations and timbres of a percussive element depending on where and how they touch the pad. Finger drum with timbral variation akin to a natural drum head, whether you’re playing an acoustic drum sound or an electronic one. Or play different percussion articulations within a pad – hits and rolls, open and closed hi-hats, sticks and brushes. Paint your playing with precise color by adding tremolo or wah-wah to just some notes of a chord. Filter sounds with your fingers. Create your own instrumental hybrids and fluidly morph between completely different sounds. Play your way through a library of nuanced sounds designed to make full use of Push’s expressive pad movements. Work with multi-articulated acoustic instruments and ensembles, take tactile control of all manner of synthesized sounds, and create shifting choral clouds with the exclusive Expressive Choir Pack by Spitfire Audio. Making music isn’t easy. It takes time, effort, and learning. But when you’re in the flow, it’s incredibly rewarding. We feel the same way about making Ableton products. An upgradeable instrument and an ever-evolving bond with Ableton Live, Push is designed to sit at the heart of your setup for years to come. Responsive MPE-enabled pads make Push an individually expressive instrument. Design multi-faceted sounds and perform them in your own style with the movement of your fingertips within each pad. • An absolute game-changer for Ableton users?
Style: Push 3
The new 64-pad grid with its stark white backdrop is the absolute star of the show. The transition to MPE (MIDI Polyphonic Expression) is phenomenal. You can slide your fingers across individual pads on the X and Y axes for pitch bends, vibrato, and filter sweeps, and they respond beautifully to per-note polyphonic aftertouch. Playing synth leads like Ableton's Drift instrument or tweaking acoustic samples feels entirely organic. It completely transforms the Push from a rigid beat-making grid into a highly expressive physical instrument. The Weight: If you plan to throw this in a backpack for daily travel, you are definitely going to feel the added bulk. Even without the standalone components, it is a significant investment for a MIDI controller. If you are heavily accustomed to relying on a mouse for clip editing and arranging, dedicating yourself to the Push workflow still takes time to master. If you work heavily in Ableton Live and want a truly hands-on, screen-free creative experience, the Push 3 Controller is unmatched. The expressiveness of the MPE pads alone justifies the upgrade. Highly recommended! ... show more

  • Love it!!
Style: Push 3
The push 3 is a super well thought out controller that is perfectly paired with ableton live. I recently made a move from a long stint in logic pro to working mostly in ableton to support an interest in using standalone hardware devices like the mpc's from akai. Turns out I'm a software guy and this guy can not go back to smaller screens and weird workflows. Ableton makes quick production simple and fun while still supporting advanced functionality with Live. Push is pre-mapped and easy to navigate to get a tactile vibe going with the software without having to relearn workflows, the underlying functions of which are second nature at this point. Love it and can't recommend it enough. ... show more
