  • Great product for enhancing audio recording!!!
Style: Scarlett Solo Configuration: 3rd Gen
The features on this interface are extremely easy to figure out along with the setup. The noise level when recording is perfect along with its lightweight design. What I love is the fact that there are so many different inputs on this device. Overall, the number of features and sturdiness makes for a great product. ... show more

  • Great audio interface
Style: Scarlett Solo Configuration: 3rd Gen
My brother had bought this for his bass and he has no complaints. I have it for my e-drum, which doesn't require the inst, air, or 48V buttons, but it works perfectly well for me. It having a microphone output is convenient for my setup since it allows for me to hear my drumset and my computer simultaneously. In addition, having the focusite come with ableton and a whole bunch of paid plug-ins is a steal. I didn't ask for all this, but I'm loving it. ... show more

  • Perfect for my needs
Style: Scarlett Solo Configuration: 3rd Gen
I started taking vocal lessons recently and bought a kind of cheapo mic from a store in town. It was working okay until a software update completely screwed up my mic settings. The mic had a voice effects option, but I never used the option, hadn't wanted it, and only bought the mic because it was decently priced and pretty much the only one my store had in stock. I didn't think it would matter. Fast forward two months and following a software update, I started my online lesson and found my instructor was completely thrown because I sounded "weird" to him. After several attempts to figure out what was wrong (I wasn't hearing it on my end), I finally had to do my lesson via cell phone and only got 15 minutes' worth of instruction. When I went back and watched the Skype video recordings of our attempts to fix whatever he was hearing, I was absolutely mortified to hear that the update had very obviously applied a random voice effect and made me sound like a cartoon. I also couldn't get the effect turned OFF. That was the event that led me to buy a much better mic and audio interface. After doing a bit of research, I settled on the Focusrite Scarlett Solo 3rd generation interface. I can only speak to how well this works on Skype for vocal lessons, but would imagine it's just as great with instruments and recording. As this was my first audio interface, I did have to ask the company a few questions. But their customer service is superb and I was able to easily set this up and use it pretty quickly. It's been working great and--best of all--I no longer have to worry about audio issues or having my voice unexpectedly start sounding like Yogi Bear to my instructor. The price was really great as well. ... show more

  • Great Purchase for the Price
Style: Scarlett Solo Configuration: 3rd Gen
Had the interface for about 2 months now and no issues. It replaced an Audient interface I had (can’t remember the model) that suddenly starting registering as a mouse on my PC and not an audio device. This Focusrite was $100 less and somehow sounds better. I’d definitely recommend!

  • Solid Choice for Budding Audiophiles and Professional Musicians Alike
Style: Scarlett Solo Configuration: 3rd Gen
Firstly, the Scarlett Solo's design is aesthetically pleasing, compact, and feels robust. It has a sturdy metal casing, making it tough enough to endure the rigors of travel and everyday use. The vibrant red color is a nice touch as well, adding an element of style to my studio. The setup was effortless, thanks to the provided instructions. All it took was plugging it into my laptop via USB and installing the necessary drivers, which are easily available on the Focusrite website. It integrates seamlessly with popular DAWs, and I had it up and running with my StudioOne software in no time. Sound quality, undoubtedly one of the most critical aspects of any audio interface, is where the Scarlett Solo shines. The 3rd Gen has improved preamps which make a noticeable difference, delivering crisp and clean sound whether you're recording vocals, instruments, or podcasts. The 24-bit/192kHz converters offer professional sound quality that won't disappoint, especially at this price point. The front panel's simplicity is one of my favorite aspects of this device, with one XLR and one 1/4" input, 48V phantom power switch, direct monitor switch, and volume knobs for both headphones and speakers. The 'halo' indicators around the knobs are especially helpful as they change color to indicate if your input levels are too high, preventing potential clipping. However, I do have a couple of minor grievances. While the simplicity of the interface is great for beginners, more experienced users may miss having more input options. Also, the absence of MIDI In/Out ports is a slight inconvenience for those using MIDI controllers or instruments. However, these are minor setbacks in an otherwise fantastic product. Overall, the Focusrite Scarlett Solo 3rd Gen is a reliable and user-friendly audio interface that offers excellent value for money. It is ideal for those just starting their audio journey and even seasoned professionals who need a compact and portable interface without compromising sound quality. Despite a few minor drawbacks, it delivers where it counts and is well-deserving of a solid four-star rating. ... show more
