  • Handy little item
Used daily for two months last fall, and it works well. Some tricks getting used to interpreting the images you see ie. fungi give off some heat, but when you play around with it you learn quickly what is animal and what is plant/artifact. Good valie

  • Mind blowing for the price.
I really enjoy this unit for the money. I mostly use it for close range, under 100yds. It does really well at that range. Easy to use and to change settings.

  • Great Thermal Monocular for a Great Price
I bought this Thermal Monocular for hiking, hunting (when I do go), and novelty. I scored this on sale for $399.99 at the time. The image quality and range is above par for the price. The additional features like being able use your phone to live stream and control the parameters of the device are awesome. It's lightweight and has long battery life. Comes with a lanyard, nice cloth bag, and USB-C Cable for charging. Has a 3 year warranty from the company as well. Overall I am very happy with this Thermal Monocular especially when compared to the price point. ... show more

  • NO NO NO NO ITS A LEMON! DONT WASTE YOUR MONEY OR TIME
I got this back in April (now June) only used it a few times. Never got it wet or damaged it in anyway yet still had problems. Out of the box it only worked on usb power. Then suddenly it worked as it should. Sometimes it was a struggle to get it to turn on but it did. now it doesn’t want to turn on at all. 500$ waste of money. When it did work it was okay at best. Difficult to get things into focus. And the controles for menus was a bit of a pain. Often I would end up just using a flashlight and ruining the night. There are many others that are much cheaper that have better results than this. Don’t waste your money or time. ... show more

  • awesome for the price
So far this is an awsome little thermal unit. Very compact, almost fits in my rangefinder case on my bino rig, just a little longer than most range finders. The unit works really well for close to moderate ranges, i can pickup small birds in the trees at night or at least their heat signatures. Deer and other larger creatures show up very well up to at least 100 yards, after that you can spot them but images start to get some what fuzzy. I can still make out the deer, elk and large animals, but compared to a unit like burris makes the resolution is hazy. I am pretty pleased with performance for the price of unit. I can see the heat from urine and scat that animals and birds make, and works great to check bedding for freshness. I also like the attached lens cover that slides over lens with nothing to lose, it works great. The color palettes are good, have choices of red, color, white hot and black hot and a 4 power zoom albeit zoom is somewhat limited as lens is small. ... show more

  • Best budget thermal monocular
For what it is, and the price, I'm giving it 5 stars. But it would probably be better to spend a little more and get one with a higher resolution. Still, this is one of the better, cheaper models. And if on a budget, you'll find no better than the k2

  • Good but cheap thermal image quality
The Rix K2 works but the image quality isn't great. You can use it for quick identification (that something is there) but wouldn't exactly rely on it to show you what you're looking at.... Unless up close or you know what you're seeing. I'd probably recommend dropping the extra money for the K3 if you'll use it a lot. If you just want something quick and cheaper to have on hand this will be just fine. It works. Quality seems alright and the battery is good. ... show more
