Excellent customer service from Essence Outdoors LLC. These guys are top notch. The Pocket k3 is perfect for scanning terrain and conveniently fits in my shirt pocket. Light weight and last quite a while on a single charge. 384 resolution so not as much detail but this is a handheld meant to scan and find (in my case hogs and coyotes) and then put the scope to identify and neutralize. ... show more

Pretty handy thermal. I like it because it takes easily replaceable, rechargeable batteries. The batteries are fairly inexpensive here on Amazon. The wifi connectivity to the app on my phone is quick and easy. Picture and refresh rate are great at this price point. The one problem I have with it, which may go for any device like this as far as I'm aware, is that to properly view anything you need to be maybe 5-10 feet away. Terrible up close but beyond 10 feet it's amazing. I work nights so I carry it with me in my jacket pocket to look for UFOs, and stray cats. ... show more

These cost almost double from the lowest Rix that was being sold around father's day. But it has a much farther viewing range, which I wanted. Very compact. Easy to operate, and I prefer the rectangular shape of this monacular over the round shape of others being sold.

    • RIX K3 is more than I expected.
This thing is amazing. Super clear and I’m going back hunting tonight on the same battery. For the money I think it goes above what I had originally expected from the K3. I used the lanyard that came with it and wore it round my neck. Hardly noticed it was there. So satisfied with this scanner.

    • If you’re thinking about it… DO IT
Lemme tell you. This lil thing is handy! I use it mostly as a sheriffs deputy to locate suspects that run off and try to hide on night shift. It works really well and the picture is super clear. It gets a little grainy when zooming in, but you’re still able to see a heat signature.

    • Flawed design
Initially pleased with this product, but found after only two hours use the "core" was damaged from exposure to a high heat source. The core, the most expensive component, was damaged, resulting in erroneous images on the viewing screen. The manual did state a simple warning, but did not mention the potential damage could be significant and would not be covered by the warranty. Customer support told me to not point it at a high heat source and not to leave the lens cover open when not using it, presumably with the power on. This information should have appeared in the manual as it would have saved me $250.00! Other products similar to this have circuitry to protect the core, this does not, so beware! ... show more
