🚀 Abunda's Overview

This is our summary and key points to consider based on customer reviews.

The PVS-14 night vision device has garnered positive feedback for its similarity to military-grade equipment and its effectiveness in starlight conditions. Customers relate it to the devices used in the military, suggesting it is a solid investment for civilian use. While there are better devices for military applications, and there's a mention of a poorly assembled unit, the overall consensus is that it yields a good performance for its price point.

Pros

  • 🔭 Comparable to military-grade night vision
  • 🌟 Enables clear visibility of stars and challenging terrains at night
  • 👍 Valued as a solid investment for preparedness
  • 🌃 Effective for civilian night activities and useful in dense forests

Cons

  • 🛠️ Possible quality control issues with assembly and focus
  • ⚠️ May have blemishes on the gen 3 tube
  • 🔍 Not recommended for high-end military applications
  • 💼 Some concerns about it appearing to be slightly used when bought new

Should I Buy It?

If you're in the market for a reliable night vision device for civilian purposes, the PVS-14 comes highly recommended by users with military experience. It's considered a good value for its performance, especially if you're a hobbyist or need it for personal preparedness. As long as military-grade performance isn't a requirement, this device should be a great addition to your gear. However, keep an eye out for potential quality inconsistencies when making your purchase.

  • Very high quality

This set of PVS-14s are practically the same as the ones that I used in the military. I highly recommend them.

  • Absolutely useful.
Style: Tactical
I got a gen 3 tube... for gen 2 prices. 6 blemishes in the official paper. But I see fine. I can see stars I never knew was there. Absolutely worth it.

  • Better for civilian use
Style: Tactical
This night vision is legit and not a counterfeit. I have no experience with NV but I can tell you that I can walk through the thick forest at night and dodge limbs, branches, and even watch where I’m stepping. I wouldn’t recommend this for military applications as there are better night vision devices out there already issued and available to buy on the open market. If you’re like me, a dude who still likes his toys and occasionally larps with friends, then this is for you! ... show more

  • AVOID!!!!!!
Style: Tactical
These were poorly assembled and the objective lens adjustment/focus is unusable! I contacted AGM, went through the process of customer support and submitted a RMR with them. Crickets. Follow up emails have done nothing. No responses. So far the same level of attention has been given to me as was put towards these NVGs. Take your money somewhere else. ... show more

  • Outstanding device; the best you will get on the civilian market
Style: Tactical
This is exactly what I used as a Grunt in Ramadi, in 2005. Mine was purchased new but it appears to be a bit used, but it works fine. There is no other device on the civilian market that beats the PVS-14.
