  • 12U: Impressively Sturdy, Easy to Assemble
Size: 12U
This little 12U rack is impressively sturdy. Nice gauge steel used for all parts , well powder coated. I think a key aspect of this rack’s design is that the top and bottom pieces are made from a single, bent and formed, piece of steel. Went together easily, the instructions are nice and clear. All the pieces go together with nuts and bolts. In truth, it took me about 30 minutes (there’s only so fast that I can put 48 nuts or on the 48 bolts and tighten them all with the driver drill). The bolts snug-up easily, without the use of washers, because they use flange nuts with a slight serration on the bottom to keep the nut from turning when it comes in contact with the surface. Everything lined up well and was well finished. No sharp edges. There were some minor cosmetic defects on the back of the top piece, where the point was scuffed/rubbed. It’s an equipment rack, so I don’t care. But if it was much worse, I’d have complained. The power distribution panel is clearly “not great” (see the other reviews), and if you’re using a UPS for your equipment you don’t want to plug a surge suppressor into your UPS in any case. I tossed the power distribution panel right into the trash, and used a Tripp Lite distribution panel. I didn’t use the included shelf… instead I bought two Riveco 14” 1U shelves and installed those, Plenty of decent quality cage nuts and bolts provided with the unit. I was happy that I didn’t have to struggle to get the cage nuts into the square holes (as I’ve had to do with other, “professional” racks). Note that the BACK of the rack has round holes that supposedly takes 10-32 screws. If the silver screws provided in the package are supposed to fit (they can’t be for anything else) they definitely do not… so, no verdict on the round holes. In summary…. A decent little rack, particularly for home use. Recommended for that purpose. ... show more

  • This is very good. I would buy again.
Size: 12U
Just set it up today. Took me about 2 hours. Set up was easy. I bought this for my music rack. 1U, 2U, 3U, etc. Overall, for the price. This gets 10 out of 10. I got a bit dented one but I didn’t mind that much because all the important screws went in all right. I have one request. It’s not a major one but the big Rod screws that go under the rack could have been longer because I still want the wheels attached but I still want the big rod screws to support the majority of the weight. Right now, the wheels are supporting the majority of the weight. This is actually not a big problem because I can just find a way to make it work but I thought this info would be useful for your next version of this production. This is a very solid product. Well done!! I would buy it again. ... show more

  • A rack worth checking out.
Size: 15U
It's a nice and attractive server rack that allows the rear mount posts to be moved forward. The rubber components have a odor that reminds me of shopping at Harbor Freight. I disposed of the 5cm grommets and that seemed to help considerably. The construction of the enclosure does not protect against excessive lateral forces but adding components or drawers 4U or more will help improve it's strength. If you skip the wheels, it might be low enough to fit under a butcher block desk with 30" legs. You would still need to add some felt pads\strips on the support channels underneath - This unit will get heavy fast. I selected this rack to fit a drawer fridge and storage drawers for my side drawer unit. in my build, the fridge pushes out 9 inches past the back of the rack but that works fine for me and promotes air flow. Being able to custom build with drawer sizes and placement is a step above the fray. ... show more

  • Well built and sturdy
Size: 15U
This rack impressed me with this sturdy build and the ease with how it came together. Almost all of the edges were rounded and didn't present any areas that could cut me, which is a problem I've had with other racks in the past. The metal used seems very strong and the wheels work great. The rubber grommets in the bottom and top plate are easy to remove and the rubber inside the grommet was easy to remove. My only complaints about this unit come down to them combining the rack clips and screws into the same bag with different types. Both M6 and 10-32 screws were in the same bag as well as an additional bag of M6 and M5 screws. Before I could build the rack I had to go through and sort all the screws. This was not a big problem, but just something a couple extra bags to fix. Just for those looking, be aware that the sides aren't removable so as the rack fills up, it gets increasingly difficult to make things clean because you can't access the sides. At least, this novice had an issue with that. ... show more

  • Great quality but.......
Size: 18U
For the money, this was better than expected by far. Really nice unit till i got to the bottom piece. As you can see in the picture, that metal was ripped and exposing a serious cut hazard. It wasn't caused by packing or shipping, because the box was in perfect condition packed in two boxes. This was made and packed like this. This is a bad quality control, very bad. Lucky I didn't cut my hand or finger. And two more things. Many of the pre drilled holes for rack mounting was not tapped for threads, so that's an empty hole. One of the welded nuts for the leveling feet are striped out, so you can't screw in that one. So now I have to tap that one to accept threads. Unacceptable!!! ... show more

  • It's alright, but...
Size: 22U
It's a bit wobbly until you install a few modules, the paint is scratched in a few places, and the metal was bent in a few places but it gets the job done. I wouldn't recommend buying though unless you have a rubber mallet or something similar to hammer the metal back into shape. One of the corners on my base plate was so bent that the side panel couldn't fit into it without fixing it first. Also be aware the bolts are very very soft and prone to stripping. If you have better bolts or rack studs, use them. ... show more
