I highly recommend this product for an umbilical hernia. The sizing is a little off. I have bought both the large and small. I should fit into the large but it was getting too loose and the boning was hitting me in the wrong spot. I went back and get to the small and it's much more comfortable. The boning is no longer jabbing me in the side and instead sits at my back where I assume its supposed to sit. Even with the small I can make it tighter or loose as needed. I would imagine this would be hard to fit if you were actually small (im post partum with twins so a small should not be the right size).

The product is fine. It’s probably sufficient for others - I don’t know. The Velcro was very strong and if aligned properly, won’t scratch. IF. I have diastatis recti. The muscle between the abs is paper thin and I’ve got a bulge the size of a grapefruit just under my rib cage - that pops out if I use that muscle (which is all the time!). I might have been completely happy with this product if I didn’t just get a belly band holster that serendipitously did the job and gave me a comparison. The holster has very powerful elastic because of its purpose - it must not slip at a crucial moment. I think I just need another belly band holster and use it whether used as intended or as a hernia belt. That’s the plan anyway!

In order to have the pad on the inside of the belt I had to fold the end back around into itself so the velcro had something for the pad to stick to leaving not as much area for the belt to stick to itself. The rough edges kept poking me, I finally wrapped a piece of cloth around them so I didn't feel the poke. Then we had a spell of warmer weather and it was uncomfortably hot and caused me to sweat. So finally I quit using it and just used a belt through the belt loop in my jeans pulled up tight and that seemed to work. My hernia is small so this was not crucial, if it was large I would put up with any inconvenience, I believe, to solve the problem.

Best belt I have found, the silicone ball that's inside to hold the hernia has been a life saver. Extremely comfortable and you can't see under clothes. Other reviewers mentioned that the corner of the belt irritates their skin, I did notice it's a bit scratchy on one corner, I just fold that corner so it's not touching my skin and that solved the problem. Honestly the discomfort of a hernia outweighs that minor issue. This is a quality product and I would buy again if need be, but I see this belt lasting a long time.

This is my first hernia belt. I bought three different brands so I could compare. This was the worst one, by far. The other two belts came with pictures and very clear instructions on how to use them. I spent 20 minutes just trying to figure out how to put the RiptGear belt on my body. Never did figure out. What a waste of time! One of the other ones I ordered came with a removable, washable navel pad as well as back support inserts. The RiptGear belt didn't have any of those features. I wish I could get that 20 minutes back. This product is garbage and it's going back. On the plus side, it fit nicely in the cheap plastic bag.

This belt works very well as an additional wrap to augment my inguinal hernia belt while I am outside for walks. It is lightweight, conveniently stored in a carry bag, and is easy to quickly apply in case my usual truss needs help. Fits discreetly below my hips, under my shirt tail on the outside of my slacks.
