Sleeping on a pull out couch is often uncomfortable. The old mattress we had was hard as a rock and definitely not something we would want anyone to sleep on. This one is a great upgrade. Understandably not as think or comfortable as a standard mattress but definitely a step up. I would definitely recommend.
