I would actually give this product 5 stars. but I am still getting used to this product. The mattress is FINE. Hard mattress / supportive for sure. I am surprisingly not experiencing hip soreness at all - while the top of this mattress is not really soft, but it IS conforming. This mattress is surprising me. Again, due to its supportiveness and conforming, yet not causing hip soreness at all. And I learned today that there is a softer mattress I could choose for our other hideway bed as we have two of them. One in the living room and one in our spare bedroom. I had air mattresses on them, but that has become TOO big of a hassle with air leaks. Just not looking for leaks anymore. No more being careful getting in and out of bed. I could choose a softer mattress, now that I know there are also foldable boards to put between the mattress and the foldout, but by the time you purchase the cheaper mattress (softer and the board to block the bar - may as well probably just purchase the more supportive mattress??). The harder more supportive mattress isn't so hard like sleeping on a box - surprisingly, It really is more supportive. I will get a second one of this mattress for $200. Update: have come to really LIKE this mattress. You can feel the couple of inches of memory foam on the top when laying on this mattress and moving around on it.

Our sofa bed is so uncomfortable that most people just slept on the sofa and did not open the bed. the mattress was really uncomfortable. This mattress is slightly thicker, but the big difference is it does not have any intersprings or hard wires in it. Several people have slept on the new mattress and all of said it was comfortable. No one ever said that about the old one.

This is a comfortable mattress replacement on the fold out sofa. expanded within 48 hours to correct size. It is softer than I anticipated and you tend to sink into it more than the old coil mattress. However, did not have any issues with my hip hurting like the old one.
