    • Ready to practice those cool new low/calf kicks?
So far this bag is holding up very well. It is definitely not the most stable bag out there. But unless you are a higher level kickboxer or have decent power in your head kicks, you’re probably not going to knock it over. the texture is good and doesn’t hurt your knuckles even without gloves. The lower padding is key for practicing low leg kicks (calf kicks). Do you only negative things I have to say about it is it is difficult to move because you have to push or pull on the base. And filling it with sand or water is extremely difficult because the holes to fill out are very small. Other than that I have no complaints whatsoever and it is my favorite freestanding heavy bag I’ve ever owned. It bends and flexes quite a bit which isn’t really a bad thing. I love that I can practice a few karate routines; I can go as fast or slow hard or gently as I like; that it is sturdy. I gave it five stars for assembly but that is because I believe if you get a good product like this, assembly doesn't get much easier than this, since you DO have to take it apart to fill it with water/sand, but my daughter and I never read any instructions and did it relatively easily by common sense, so I gave it a pass. It was easy to assemble, although filling the base with sand was a bit of a pain. I got a funnel that you use to change car oil to get the sand in the little holes, but then had to tilt the base (which is in two parts) to get the sand to distribute within the base. It took about 1.5 hours to fill the two parts of the base. Otherwise, it's a good bag. The bag is padded well, and it feels like you don't even need wraps or gloves to hit it. I find the biggest drawback to the unit is the amount the bag sways with a hard hit. It wobbles more than I expected, but it gives a good opportunity to practice dodging.     • Finally! A free standing bag that doesn't fall over
Best free standing bag I've used yet. The trouble with virtually all free standing bags is that there is no give (sway).As a result, they either tip over when kicked or the stem will crack if stabilized by being bolted/weighed down. I've gone through 2 different types of Wavemasters this way. The XXL Wavemaster doesn't fix the fundamental problem. It just falls harder and is more tiresome to stand it back up. Just imagine a hanging heavy bag that doesn't swing. This version is the slightly smaller one, the 'Fitness' model (it stands about 5'8"). I got this primarily for my middle school kids, but it can take my hits better than any Wavemaster. I'm 195 lbs with 12+ yr TKD (WTF), 1 yr MT (WTBA), 2 yr BJJ (RenzoG), and 1 yr WC (LT) experience. If you're 175 lbs or less, this bag should be fine for you, but if you're heavier or hit very hard all the time, go for the bigger 'Elite' model. ... show more

The fill for water is covered by the assembly of bag. If you need to drain or add water you have to disassemble bag. Otherwise great bag.

Filled with sand its very steady even under hard kicks. If u hit it hard enough the top foot or so u will knock it around a little. It can be knocked over if u intend to but not easily

Works well, it does move a little. I filled it with play sand. There is definitely no comparison between the bags found at a gym (which I would not expect), but for the cost, ease of having a bag in my home and not having to drive to the gym, I can deal with it. The reason for 4/5 stars is the pain it took to fill the base. It’s a very small hole. I used a funnel and very fine white play sand, that made things 100x easier. ... show more

    • Must Fill w/ Sand!!
Unless you're a baby just barely walking, any punch or kick will tip this over. Even if you're just shooting precision punches at it without power it tips over. Try filling this thing with sand, it's like performing an operation.
