  • Great Doorbell, Possibly Too Good at Its Job
Size: 1 doorbell
The video quality is excellent, and the wide-angle view gives us a clear picture of everything happening near the door. Setup was straightforward, and it works well with Alexa. My only caution is that the motion detection is SUPER sensitive. Setting the alert area seems simple enough, but the boundaries aren’t very precise—we still get notifications for activity outside the selected zone. Overall, it’s a great wired doorbell with impressive coverage and picture quality; just be prepared to fine-tune the motion settings and possibly receive alerts about things you never asked to monitor! ... show more

  • Outstanding Video Quality and Easy Installation
Size: 1 doorbell
This wired Ring doorbell has been a fantastic upgrade for my home. The 2K video quality is incredibly sharp, and the wide-angle view lets me see much more of my front porch than my previous doorbell camera. The enhanced zoom is also very useful for getting a closer look when needed. Installation was straightforward, and the Ring app made setup quick and simple. Notifications are fast, and pairing it with Alexa makes it even more convenient by announcing visitors throughout the house. The build quality is excellent, the speckled gray finish looks modern, and the camera performs reliably day and night. If you’re looking for a high-quality wired video doorbell with excellent image quality and smart features, this is an easy five-star recommendation. ... show more

  • Great product
Size: 1 doorbell
Long time ring user. I had a battery doorbell at my apartment for a while but after purchasing a home with a hardwired doorbell, I upgraded. This product is awesome. No battery in it, easy to hardwire and setup only took minutes. Great security upgrade that I can check up on my front patio whenever I’d like. For the money, it is well worth it especially on sale. Camera is 9/10 clarity. It is not crystal clear, but you can definitely see what is happening, and at a pretty good distance. The new update that gives you a description of what is happening during each alert is neat. 90% of the time it is 100% accurate. Small details like what I’m holding will be confused but it is great at distinguishing between people and vehicles. Do NOT expect to read license plates from more than roughly 20” maybe? I have my doorbell aimed towards the driveway and when I pull in, I can read plates but once my truck leaves the driveway it’s hard, but possible to read. Any further, not likely. I did have to upgrade my yearly subscription to “multiple devices” for $100/year but it is worth it. Ring is a great, domestic company. ... show more

  • A great security camera doorbell
Size: 1 doorbell
This model is definitely a step up from the one I had back in 2022. However, it has similar issues. PROS: - Much clearer video - Switches to nightmode quickly and very clearly in black/white - Audio captured is loud and clear, and it's speaker is the same. - Setup is quick CONS: - Still very bulky. If you're replacing an existing old-fashioned button doorbell that is right up against the frame or storm door, this unit's install will make you frustrated. It needs a solid 2 to 3 inches. - It has almost no cavity in the back, meaning that you don't get any area for doorbell wire slack. It's extremely hard to get this flush on the mount if you have any wire. I had a small gap I had to fill with silicone to ensure water won't get inside it. - To reset it, it requires you either turn the power off (via your fuse box/circuit breaker) or removing it from the mount and pushing the orange reset button. If you saw my above notes...I'd rather turn the breaker off. It would be FAR easier if you had to push the doorbell button a few times. Something like "Push button 3 times and hold on 4th for 10 seconds" You still can't wire this with your existing doorbell chime by the way. You have to use the included jumper cable in your existing doorbell chime unit. Then you'll have to buy Amazon's separate plug-in Ring Chime, who's sole purpose is to ring for Doorbells or Movement. I can confirm that the older Chime units still work with this newer Ring model at least. ... show more

  • No battery, wired. May not ring house chime, Ring chime required
Size: 1 doorbell
Video quality is much better than my old Ring 2. Also this doesn't require a battery. I have a ring chime I use with this because it won't ring my Nicor doorbell, even though Nicor claims compatibility. Ring doesn't make the same claim stating I need a different model for that to work. I'm fine with using the chime, thrilled not to have to worry about a battery and stoked about the video quality. ... show more

  • Easy install and operation
Size: 1 doorbell
Good capture range. Replaced my old peephole camera that the mic went out on. Happy with video and motion detection. View can be seen better in panning while review. I can't see the whole picture on my phone so i have move angle. Different angles on the pictures. Easy install with doorbell jumper. My home was 25 yrs old and no added hardware needed. ... show more

  • easy install and setup
Size: 1 doorbell
I love my ring doorbells. The mounting and install were simple but one should have at least a basic knowledge of electrical wiring. The setup was equally simple, especially if you already have an Echo device. I did order a chime later because this model will not use my existing chime. But a chime is not necessary if you have and Echo Show or another Echo device. The device will announce motion or someone at the door. I do recommend getting the chime too, though. I also got a 30-day Ring pro plan free trial and I like it, but the cost is prohibitive. After the trial runs out, I will try it without the plan for a while and update my review accordingly. I am considering the Ring Multi plan which is only $99/year. I found the compatibility with Alexa works smoothly. The settings are somewhat complicated and hard to find. Amazon could improve their apps Ring and Alexa. Neither are very user friendly. There have been several complaints about these apps. I am having trouble with the announcement whenever it detects a person moving within my area. Alexa announces it okay and it shows up on my TV. I like this but it freezes my TV and I have to change the channel and back to my original channel to fix it. I am not sure if this is a doorbell flaw or a TV flaw, but it is annoying because I have tried several fixes and none work. Other than that, I really like my doorbells. I ordered the 2 pack while it was on sale, and I would suggest this to anyone to wait until it goes on sale. ... show more

  • Does not support current installed chimes
Size: 1 doorbell
Works great so far, It’s only been a few days since I installed it. I needed to upgrade the chime transformer for another $20.00, the old one was fine except Ring wanted you to upgrade? After going through the instructions and installation, my indoor chime did not work. Reviewed the instructions / installation and found no issues, but indoor chime did not work anymore. Called support and the technician mentioned that this is the ONLY model that doesn’t support the existing chime. I wish I knew that before I purchased. There is no documentation letting me know of this issue. Hence the 4 stars ... show more
