I had purchased these for a specific pair of shoes (ballet flats) and when I received the insoles, they were too wide. So, I trimmed them. This was a wrong move. While they fit from a width perspective, I cut them too short. They slide up and down now. They are comfortable, though. This is a huge plus! I used these for about 3 months, in shoes that I typically wear twice a week. They're wearing through the spandex in the higher pressure areas and degrading the foam. A pity as they were rather comfortable and very affordable.

For basic foam inserts, these were fine. They are not for athletic shoes and do not have a molded arch, but they were cushioned enough to keep my cheap flats from hurting my feet.

I've ordered many shoe inserts, usually, although I ordered the correct size, it was necessary to cut the insert for it to fit. These are thinner, and are not meant to give extra arch support. I only buy shoes with built in high arch support, including my slippers and flip-flops. I have a pair of work boots that are years old but show no sole or outside wear whatsoever, however the inner lining was becoming thin from constant wear, making the balls of my feet ache by the end of my gardening day. When I went to insert these they slipped right in, with no cutting or problems. They are thin, which is exactly what I wanted. Many are so thick that the shoes become too tight.
