This Veraste retractable baby gate works great for keeping my space safe and organized. The mesh is strong but lightweight, and it extends smoothly to fit different doorways and stairways. I like that it’s easy to retract when not in use, which makes it much more convenient than a traditional gate. Installation was straightforward, and it feels secure once mounted. The only thing to note is that you need to pull it all the way to latch properly, but once in place, it does the job well. Great for both kids and pets!

This gate was easy to install and held up great against the kids, it was the dogs that put it to the real test where its durability failed. It’s okay though because we have two Velociraptors that could probably shred through a steel gate. The good boy pictured was not the culprit. 10/10 would recommend if you have normal dogs and not Belgian Maliniois’.

It was super simple to screw into the doorway. The lock feature works very well. The ease of opening is something to get used to but it works very well. My cat still finds a way to climb or jump over it when I’m not looking but my dog doesn’t. The lock feature helps to get them accustomed and closing the door.

I went with grey but I won’t mind seeing a different shade of brown. Installation was straight forward, instructions were okay and I made it a point to set the hardware directly in wall studs so no worry’s about screws pulling out of the wall, the screws are long too. It was package well and in an attractive box. Shipping was normal for Amazon so nothing special there. It looks good and I did my best to ensure it was level (I came close) and keep it from twisting. It is overkill for my Chi-Weenie and Toy Poodle at 33” tall but the length is more then sufficient as l only needed to span 44” Locking feature only takes a flick of the wrist and it is sturdy

It retracts nice and is so convenient when you want to open it up and it just goes to it's thing. It keeps our dogs out of the baby's area so there is less fur for him to crawl through and is see through enough that we can still interact with the pups easy enough. Love this as a room divider and it functions quite well after many months of use.

The unit was easy to install and doesn't need any special settings to adjust how far we want to pull it. Just a simple turn of a dial locks and unlocks the gate and it stretches as far as there is equipment on the roll. I had ordered an extra set of hardware before I could get another gate. I installed the extra hardware on another opening and can easily move the gate from one opening to the other with just one click. It's very convenient and works well. However, you need to install the gate as close to the floor as possible otherwise your child may be able to slide their way underneath the fabric. If you have large wall molding across the bottom, you may not be able to use this gate. It does have an adjustable bottom to accomodate for high moldings, but the thickness can only go so far. Ours just made it.

Just received our gates over the weekend. My husband installed it on our deck to keep our Goldendoodle enclosed. So far, it works beautifully! Love the looks of it and how I can open or close it with 1 hand. Love that it can be tucked away when not in use. Would highly recommend it.

Overall this is a good gate. However, we purchased this for our deck because of their advertising that this is suitable for outdoor use. However this gate gets stuck when it freezes. It's basically useless outdoors for entire days/weeks if temperatures drop below freezing like the current cold spell in the NE. That seems like a major flaw. Now we're forced to leave the gate open and that is a safety issue. Climbing over the closed the first time we realized it had gotten stuck was also really annoying.
