This is a great retractable gate. Most I use this in a double opening in one of my barns to keep the animals out while I’m milking. So far, it has worked great. It was easy to install. The opening is wide, but fits the gate, and it is strong enough that the animals do not break it. The only animals I’m blocking are goats and some ducks, so I don’t think that it would block a cow. Overall, it seems like a nice quality, build, easy to install, and it is very functional. I would definitely recommend it!

We've got a busy household with two big pups and an aspiring toddler, and over the years we've tried dozens of gates to keep the pups and kiddos at bay. Most of the baby gates we use are for doorways and stairwells, but every now and then we find we need to isolate a larger area (like when a toddler is having stomach time on a playmat) and we need to prevent the big pups from trampling them). For those occasions, we've found a number of qualities that tend to be shared among the best gates we've tried. This gate has 4 out of 5 of the most important ones. 1. It's at least 27 inches tall. Short baby gates scream "try to step over me!" to people, and big and medium dogs see it as a jump challenge. In both cases, it can result in the human or animal catching a back foot on the gate and tumbling to the floor, and, in worst-case scenarios taking the gate down with them or injuring themselves. This gate is a nice, jump-deterring 34 inches tall. An additional 7 inches might not seem like much of a deterrent, but it very much is. 2. It's screw-mounted. ADHESIVE MOUNTS DO NOT HOLD. I know it's tempting to try and avoid damaging your walls with some drill holes, but it's even worse when a kiddo or doggo presses against the gate and the adhesive pulls paint/plaster/drywall off/out of your wall. The screw-in option is always better. You can always fill in the holes with some wood putty and paint over it. 3. Easy to open with one hand. It might take some practice, but opening this gate with one hand is easy after a few practice runs. That becomes especially important when you've got the kiddo in one arm. 4. It has floor anchors if it's really long. This gate is 140 inches wide, so if you use it to split a room to keep the kiddo or doggos from being underfoot in the kitchen or secure in a corner, the floor anchors (which only work on hard floors) help prevent them from crawling underneath. Unfortunately, this gate doesn't have the vertical reinforcement spindles every 2-3 feet which is a big oversight for a gate this long. The floor anchors go a long way, but there is some major sagging that occurs when this thing is fully extended. ***Overall Value*** This is an okay choice for a room dividing baby gate, with a decent price at $66 (at time of review) but not having the vertical reinforcement spindles to go with the floor anchors was a weird omission and means there are better options and models available.

This is a great option for a baby gate to keep your baby safe. One thing I do not like about this gate is that you have to drill it into the wall, however it does make the gate more stable. I also noticed the parts to secure the gate to the floor only work on smooth, flat surfaces. So this feature cannot be used on a surface like carpeting. I do like how the gate can be opened and left open if it is not needed and closed when needed. Other gates usually have a small opening for adults that opens and closes but this gate can be completely closed or opened if needed. It is very practical and safe for your baby!

This gate is great for closing off a large opening going to our baby's playroom. Install was straightforward and went pretty quickly. The package came with hardware for installing to studs or drywall. My favorite feature of this gate over other like it are the clips at the bottom for holding it to the ground. This prevents our baby and most of our pets from being able to squeeze under the gate, even across the wide opening. Install of these can be done by screwing into the ground or by using included double sided adhesives. For an indoor application on hardwood floors, we obviously opted for the adhesive application. The adhesive is very strong and has held well so far. The gate itself locks easily and holds tight, but is also simple to unlock for someone who knows how to do it. I've been very happy with this gate and would definitely recommend it.
