After replacing the filter, you will need to reset the filter, otherwise the machine will not recognize the newly replaced filter. To reset the carbon filter, press and hold the "oscillation" button for 5 seconds until the countdown reaches 1. To reset the HEPA filter, press and hold the "night mode" button for 5 seconds.

While it's not a perfect fit, it does eventaully snap into place after some effort. You can tell it's a thrid-party filter. Not sure of logevity, because it's only been istalled for a month, but Dyson claims a year on their filters, so If I get nine months out of a knockoff, I'll be happy. I had gotten a knock off filter but had less than satisfactory results. Went back to Dyson filters, and I won’t “cheat” on them again. Dyson has videos on their apps showing you how to install. And don’t forget to vacuum out the sensors. (See their video) or you’ll get error codes. Tip: Ours last about a year before we get the message to replace. We live in the desert, so you may get a year or longer depending on where you live. ... show more

What I don't like is the Filter does not work. Only one does which will not work with my. Dyson. I only tried using it today which is when my previous filter said I needed to replace it. Do not buy. This is the second one that does not work. It was refundable until yesterday. Do not risk buying filter from Amazon . Very disappointed with and Hepa Filter from Amazon. Waste of money.
