  • Good quality and easy to set up. Great mobile and PC app
(Update) Almost one year later and this system is still working great. Very happy with it. Arrived as expected and was really well packaged. Setup was more or less plug and play. Pretty simple if you can read basic instructions. Plug your set top box into a TV, and follow the onscreen prompts. Hook up your cameras and the device auto detects them. Set up the cameras sensitivity to alerts and that is it. They have a real simple to use app for android/apple and it seems to be quite stable thus far. Alerts come in quickly. You can record playback directly to your phone and it actually goes into your camera roll instead of their app thankfully. It also has a stand alone app for PC that works great and is easy to customize. With the PC app you can actually use your PC as a DVR of sorts if you want to. Can also record footage directly to your computer. Pretty nifty I thought. Video quality surpassed my expectations by quite a bit. Some of these companies consider "4k" potato cam quality video. I can verify that these cameras actually do record in 4k. The addition of 2way talk and a useful spotlight on them further enhances their use. I find myself turning the spotlights on quite often. The playback experience is quite fast too. They have indicators in the playback timeline so you can just zip to where the cameras detected motion and go from there. There isn't much in the way of lag while skipping around different times. My previous camera systems playback mode was super frustrating to use, so this was a welcome change. I read a bunch of reviews of this system and one of the big gripes was false alerts. I can see this being an issue for some, but it just appears to be the nature of the game. From what I have read most of the current generation of camera systems suffer the same fault. I have most of my cameras set to near the lowest alert setting and it seems to have killed most of the false alerts. Getting the random buzz in my pocket because a bug walked across the lens of my camera isn't going to be a deal breaker. I had to purchase longer cables of 150ft to get my cameras to their desired location. If you need to exceed 60ft I would suggest buying the "CableGeeker" flat cat6 ethernet cable. They are extremely thin and are easy to run with basic cable management. Overall I am extremely satisfied with this purchase. If it blows up in the next year or something else happens to it I will add to this review. ... show more

  • Great and affordable video Survailance System
Came with all the cables and directions to install. App is great and easy to use, works great at night with great video quality. Ability to connect to your network seamlessly. Great price for a good starter system with the ability to upgrade to 4 more cameras if necessary.

  • Much better now! It had lots of false alarms, hard to use, doesn't work with WiFi extenders
Updated review as of 9/27/25: I changed the rating from 1 to 4 stars after over 2yrs of ownership. Somehow the system just silently works in the background for the vast majority of the time. Most of the issues are resolved. The false alarms are almost non-existence. Finding and reviewing alerted events are much easier. The two issues remaining are: 1) somehow the email notification of an event no longer works; however, given the other notification mechanisms (buzzer and push notifications) are working well, the problem doesn't bother me. 2) the UI is still very complicated to accommodate so many features. You have to know the UI very well to set up the system appropriately. Each camera has a schedule for recording, alerts notification, detection zones, detection sensitivity, filters (for human, car, animal), etc. For a four-channel system, you are dealing for 4 sets of those settings. And those settings are spread everywhere; keeping track of what-is-what is very difficult until you learn the UI very well. Review from 2yrs ago: Pros: wider field of view, higher quality videos, auto adding of connected cameras Cons: (1) Lots, lots, and lots of false alarms despite my best effort to define to monitoring zone, and significantly decrease the detection sensitivity to detect pets or cars. An alert would be triggered for a bug that flew too close to the camera, a tree shadow shifted due to wind, or a tree branch fluttering in a gentle wind. An alert would be triggered during a live viewing with nothing moving; the cam was configured with no car or pet detection, and all the trees and their shadows were excluded from monitoring. (2) Hard to use. It'd trigger an alert and then drop you into a sea of videos, expecting you to scan through to determine why. It'd be so much easier for the users if ReoLink shows the portion of the video that caused the trigger and highlight the cause of the trigger. Nobody cares about the other part of the video with still images (3) If you connect to one of the multiple WiFi extenders in your house, you WILL NOT be able to access the ReoLink NVR / cameras. The only time that it will work is when you are connected to the WiFi extender closest to the NVR. ReoLink support's response? "It's the WiFi extender problems" (4) worse of all, due to the repeated false alarms, I no longer check the alarm. The system failed miserably in its core purpose of security; there is no security if alarms are forced to be ignored. ... show more

  • Premium Camera System with Tons of Features
This camera system has pretty good reviews and it deserves them. For $550 you get the NVR (Network Video Recorder) and four 12 megapixel cameras. The software for this system is very good. There are no monthly fees to get push notifications to your phone and computer which is excellent. The software can run on Windows or Mac, iPhone or Android, and it also has a HTTPS interface but you have to turn this feature on manually as it's not on by default. One thing you can do to keep from running a wire to the DVR is get an ASUS router network going and run it in AIMesh mode. I did this and it allows me to run my DVR in the garage over the WiFi network so I didn't have to thread a wire all the way to my garage to get access to the system over the network. The 12 megapixel image is stunning and captures a ton of detail. The motion detection is very tunable so you won't get false alarms from motion. The motion-activated spotlight is nice to have so you can get solid color night time illlumination and also scare off intruders with the bright white lighting. I also added the wide-angle panorama camera with the floodlight to this system and that was way worth it. It adds a total 180 degree view of the front of my house and shows all of the cars coming and going. Nobody can hide from this camera system once you set it up it's a great security feature to add to your property. ... show more
