  • Crystal-Clear 12MP Video and Reliable All-Around Home Security System!
Excellent Coverage and Crystal-Clear Quality! I couldn’t be happier with this REOLINK system! The 12MP resolution delivers incredibly sharp and detailed video even at night. The PoE setup made installation simple and clean, with just one cable per camera for both power and data. The eight cameras provide full coverage of my property, and the app makes it easy to view live feeds or playback recordings right from my phone. Motion detection is accurate and not overly sensitive, and I appreciate how customizable the alerts are. The system has been running smoothly without any lag or connection issues. For the quality, ease of use, and peace of mind it offers, this setup is worth every penny. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a reliable and professional-grade home security solution! ... show more

  • Really good deal for price
I’m a commercial camera installer and these are pretty difficult to beat. They won’t do some of the things high end cameras like Axis can, but you aren’t paying thousands of dollars for one camera like you would with Axis. They’re great for your home or small business. I purchased this kit and have had no issues. The audio is good. The IR’s are good. The app is decent. And the configuration is fast and simple. It’s all around a good package for the price. ... show more

  • Nice system for the price.
This is the third camera system I've installed in my home in the last few months. The first one was a Lorex system that cost around $1200. I returned it because I could not get it to quit giving false motion alerts. Then I bought an 8 camera Reolink system. That system was a big improvement and I was happy with it. Then, browsing Amazon, I noticed they had this 12MP eight camera system for a few hundred more dollars. I was still within the return window on the first Reolink system so I returned it and purchased this system. It has been great so far. Very good image quality. The app is simple and easy to use. Setup was easy. I haven't had any interactions with tech support so I can't comment on that. Upgrading to this system also gave me lights on the cameras, audible alarms on each camera, and the ability to talk and listen over the cameras. Those are all nice features and work well. A few things I'd change... 1) The cameras don't lock on to the mounting plate. They just spin on and there's a slight click. If a dirt bag wanted to, they could just unscrew the camera and pull it off. That was one thing the Lorex did better, it had little set screws that locked the cameras to the plate so removing them would require a tool and at least a few minutes of time. 2) I think like most of these "cheaper" systems, the smart detection is kind of a gimmic. I've been trying for a month to get the settings where it only tells me if there is a person or a vehicle in the camera's view. It still occasionally alerts me to a wasp, a cat, or nothing that I can discern. It is an improvement over the Lorex technology, though. I'm hopeful one day I'll get the settings just right. 3) Not enough NVR storage capacity. I like to keep my system recording 24/7. I could get about 5 days of recordings before it started overwriting older stuff. That wasn't enough for me so I added a 6TB Seagate drive (not cheap!) in addition to the one that comes with the system. I think it can keep about 12 days of recordings stored now. If I ever get to a place where I 100% trust the accuracy of its motion triggers, I may switch it to record motion only. That would greatly increase the amount of days I could keep on the storage. Overall, I like this system and for the cost I consider it a good deal. I looked at a couple of U.S. company's commercial systems when I was shopping and they were $2500-$4k for the same amount of cameras and comparable NVRs. The way I look at it, I saved a ton of money and all it cost me was the weaker camera mounting system (which hopefully will never be a problem) and the occasional false motion alert. Thanks for reading! Hope that helps someone in their search. ... show more

  • Good security system with easy setup for remote monitoring on mobile devlices
This unit performs very well. The cameras provide video and also serve as motion detection lights. The cameras are very wide angle which is helpful in some locations. I may add an additional narrow field-of-view camera to provide a more telescopic vision in one direction as well a doorbell camera. I may add an external POE unit to provide power to the cameras and reduce any chance of higher temperatures inside the NVR. It was easy to install since there were already Cat5e cables to every location for the 8 cameras included. Setup of the NVR was less difficult that expected. The menus were logical unlike some other brands. It is easy to connect into most home routers, especially using Cat5e or Cat6. I upgraded to an industrial high-security router, which required establishing a DMZ tunnel and adding the NVR's MAC address to the table of allowed devices. Most users can ignore that task, but it is not especially hard to do if you have installed your industrial router and set up the security. Setting up remote access on my mobile phone was much less complex than Qsee. I had been using a Qsee POE NVR system for about a decade. Qsee NVRs ran hot. I replaced the hard disks in the Qsee NVRs with larger data center grade disks as original disks failed. I replaced Qsee NVRs as they failed, probably due to heat generated by the built-in POE power supply. ... show more

  • Huge upgrade over Blink camera system
We have been using these for several months now, and we love them. This is a major upgrade from our Blink system. Blink cameras have a long delay (3-15 seconds or more) from when motion is detected to when it records an “event.” This meant that the recording often missed the actual “event,” rendering the recording useless. The Reolink cameras record continuously, record high quality video, and have great zoom features. It’s fairly accurate at capturing and labeling events (e.g, identifying humans vs animals vs other things like vehicles). The provided cables were not long enough and numerous enough for our home, but we were able to affordable purchase extra cable from the hardware store. Since these are wired cameras, it does require installation that included crawling through the attic, drilling holes for cable, etc. this has been well worth the effort, though. Once the cables have been run through the house, the setup was fairly easy. These have been a great value for the cost. So much so that we recently upgraded our doorbell to Reolink as well. ... show more
