I am an avid papercrafter, therefore,bi rarely sit still to read a book until I sat down and read Eat Everything! Not only is it easy to read, but easy to digest (pardon the pun). Dr Sherling has written this book not only to make us aware of what we are eating but adds some "real life" examples of which I was amused by and some that woke me up! I have actually photographed the page that defines the non-friendly additives along with some other points of interest to my phone so when shopping, I can check these out on the spot. Dr Sherling offers some practical recipes and lots of ideas in the book for every possible situation, be it Eating Out, Cocktails to be aware of and the processed food vs home cooking.   • Finally, a book that makes perfect sense.
Eat Everything by Dr. Dawn Sherling is nothing short of an amazing book. This is the first book I’ve read in a very long that just makes sense. How our diets, and the foods we eat, became filled with so many emulsifiers and additives is shocking. The detrimental effects to our bodies caused by these emulsifiers and additives is even more shocking. I recommend this book to anyone and everyone.   • Contains good information but too long
This book was far longer than it needed to be. I guessed that early on with the anecdotal stories in the beginning and avoiding tying things together I do not need suspense when reading factual material. So the story and pertinent information was slow to unfold Before this book, I read “Ultra Processed People: The Science Behind Food that is Not Food”. I gained little new information from this book Both books talked of the health impacts of all the “gum” in our food. Xanthum and Gaar gum are in so much of our food. All these emulsifiers are bad for us. Make us fat and unhealthy. They are hard to avoid. Avoiding all these additives, gums, lecithins, super sugars is almost impossible. And they all can affect your health. Most yogurt and ice cream are filled with gums. To my horror, so is almost all half and half! I use it in tea and coffee! Gellan gum is in a lot of half and half and cream. Basically, if it cannot be pronounced or is not in your kitchen there is a good chance, when given to mice it causes inflammation and other diseases. Either book will shock you as to how horribly unhealthy we eat as Americans and British! ... show more

  • Eye opening information
As a medical provider this book was eye opening. It’s a must read and something to keep in hand for reference. Gastrointestinal complaints can be so frustrating for both doctors and patients because often times we do everything we know and nothing changes. Dr Sherling gives us real life stories that are so relatable, I am certain that the information in this book about additives and ultra processed foods will be life changing for some of us. I consider myself a healthy eater and yet there is so much I did not even know I was eating in some of my favorite brands or wasn’t paying attention to. The book has definitely changed the way I shop and has honestly made it a fun task to discover some hidden dangerous ingredients in some of my no longer favorite brands, I now leave the supermarket feeling accomplished and healthier! ... show more

  • Change your health with this easy to read (and funny) diet/health book
What I love most about Eat Everything is how Dr. Sherling writes about a topic that most of us shy away from discussing. As a long-time IBS sufferer myself, I was very intrigued by all the helped science-backed tips included. She may be a physician, but she speaks to us like a friend, and takes us along with her on a journey through Italy. I felt like I was on the trip with her, given her incredible descriptions. I could smell and taste the food, and felt her joy that she could eat certain foods again because they were missing all the added junk in American food. What an eye opening book! Thank you for writing such an easy to understand and helpful book/guide on how to live a much healthier life. I’ve had gut issues my whole life and always felt like it had to do with the “extras” in our foods. It gives me hope to eliminate toxins to increase my gut health and overall health.   • Wow!!!
I was so excited to read this book! Dr. Sherling explained everything so well and so easy to understand. I have already made several changes to my diet. I didn’t even realize the harmful additives I was consuming starting with my morning coffee! I carefully studied her list of harmful additives and am being very careful about what I put in my body. Here I thought I was already eating healthy, only to realize I was not. I’ve tried several of her recipes already and I am super excited to continue with cleaning up my precious microbiome!   • A Book with the Answers to so many Dietary issues
The timing of my reading this book was uncanny. My father has been suffering with a severe digestive disorder since being released from a hospital several months ago for something unrelated. Every page of the book offered up information for how he might be able to regain control of his life. Needless to say, I just ordered him a copy.
