These work exactly as described. The plug part is great when it comes to being small so it doesn't block any other outlet. The receiver size is nice and small, and works perfectly. I like that the remote is already paired out of the box. I am using 3 of these and all worked perfectly out of the box.     • It works!
I like this product. So many remote switches have a seperate 'On' and 'Off' button. This one is smarter because it has a single simple large button - press it once and it turns on whatever is plugged into the outlet module. Press the button again and it turns it off. When you walk into a dark room you do not have to fumble for the 'On' switch and wind up pressing the 'Off' switch. There is only one button. I bought a second one because I could set the 2nd remote to operate the same outlet module. That way when I go to bed at night I can simply press the 2nd remote mounted near my bed instead of reaching for the switch on the fixture. This also eliminates the problem of pressing the remote and not getting light because I last shut off the lamp using the physical switch. If I need to use the 2nd outlet module I purchased for some other device I can reprogram the 2nd switch back to the 2nd outlet module. And living in an apartment there was a concern about neighbors using the same wireless switch but I think the programming part eliminates that problem (I had that issue with a different remote switch that came labelled Channel B - that 20 year old model was not programmable. BTW: The remote is already set to the outlet module right out of the box - no pressing and holding a button to get a handshake between the remote switch and outlet module.     • Perfect temporary switch during renovations or remodels
One very useful gadget while renovating a house. As I live in the house while doing major renovations, I look to gadgets such as this remote control outlet to 1) save time 2) not having to hardwire something immediately 3) I can change locations anytime and perfect the location before I finally decide where I will hard wire fixtures and switches permanently. I guess I'm the unlucky one. All good reviews here, but it worked great for 5 months then stopped. Changed the battery to no effect. Oh, well...at least it was cheap.
