What a wonderful heater. This is a Mica heater which uses an electric current to generate heat which then heats up the Mica panels which in turn radiate the heat upwards and out to the sides. It is fan-less and uses convection to circulate the heat which makes it quiet and slightly more power efficient than heaters with fans. The power control knob allows you to choose between 1000W and 1500W. For my 18x18 bedroom the 1000W setting works just fine. For my great room, I use the 1500W setting. There is also a thermostat control which allows you to adjust the temperate. Mica heaters are nice for a couple of reasons. First they are almost silent with no fan or moving parts. The only sound this heater makes is a click when the thermostat switches on, and a slight buzz as it is heats up the mica elements. Second the mica retains the heat well. After my room gets up to temperature I can completely turn off the heater and it will continue to radiate heat from the mica panels for another 20-30 minutes. Lastly since it is mechanical and not digital, I can connect it to a smart plug and manage turning it on and off remotely. The Reekie Electric Space Heater is slim and portable. Not as small as a ceramic heater, but definitely more portable than an oil or gas heater. It's slim design makes it easy to store away during the summer months. I do wish the cord was a little longer though. Overall I am very please with this heater for heating a moderate sized indoor space. Pros: * Unit heats up quickly and provides comfortable steady radiant heat. * Very power efficient in that you can shut it off and it will continue to radiate heat. * Straight forward controls, temperature and level are all you need. * Not digital so it can work with a smart plug. * Fan-less makes it quiet and perfect for a bedroom at night. Cons: * Power cord could be a bit longer. I believe it is about 6' 8' would have been better for my needs. * There is a slight buzz when it is heating up, but it is very quiet and not very noticeable to me.

I needed to keep a tiny (112sq ft) shed to cabin conversion heated. The cabin is insulated (incl floor) but is unoccupied in the winter, but I don't want anything to freeze incl small appliances and canned goods. There were also good reviews, so I made the purchase. I was not disappointed! The small cabin is insulated (incl floor) and the heater was on the lower power setting (1000W) and lowest regular temp setting (one above freeze protection). When I checked the cabin in the morning it was 73 degrees and the temp outside had been in the mid 40's all night. I was freakin' shocked this heater kept the cabin in the low 70s on such a low setting! The heater also includes safety features, is SILENT and reasonably priced, so have at it! :)

Of all the heaters I've tried this puts out the most heat. It cycles on and off and there is a noticeable buzz when it's heating. This might not be noticeable in a large room but if you are close, the noise could be disruptive. There was a strong chemical smell initially while the new coating heated so I ran it outside on high for about 40 mn then the smell went away. It does get very hot on top and on the sides so you have to be careful that it doesn't touch anything because fabrics could burn and plastics could melt. I would not leave this thing unattended but it's a great little heater.

This is the fourth different heater I've tried. This is the keeper. Others either had trouble aligning their digital temp setting to the actual (independently verified) small room temp. Or ended up getting too hot or too heavy or incorrectly temp readings. This one, as commented on by other reviewers, provides plenty of heat when called upon and once it has attained the temp you like, keeps the room at that comfortable level. This heater, in contrasted to several others, does not emit a loud click noise when the thermostat cycles on or off. It actually is hard to hear. One thing to note about Mica heaters is that they emit a hum while the heating is active. But it is not a loud hum with this heater. Others I tried were louder. The one ding I give this heater is the quality of the wheels. They are very cheap. When trying to roll the heater around the wheels often want to stay in one orientation and not flow in the direction you are wanting to roll it. But this is not a deal breaker to me... just annoying, when it need not be if they would just install better wheels. This heater is not heavy, as some are. It is easy to lift. And the cord wrap-a-round feature is a nice touch. In short, I'm glad I finally found a heater that does what I want.

I live in an older home with only 15 amp breakers. I need a space heater that won't flip the breakers. I saw that this one has two settings - 1000 watts and 1500 watts. So, I got it to use with the first lower setting. But, on that setting it produces so little heat that you must actually be standing right on top of the heater to feel anything. Maybe if you can use it at 1500 watts you might feel something. I regret this purchase.
