Game changer!

OK, I've been using a popular titanium 750 ml pot for outdoor cooking but have had issues with it. First, the handles can get very hot. This could cause a dropped pot and scalding hot water burns. Second, the narrow base means that heat from my (alcohol) stove is wasted to the air around the pot. Third, titanium is light weight but a little expensive. So, I ordered the camp kettle and so far, am very pleased. The handle is over the top, much like a bale, and does not get hot, the base is wide and more efficient, fuel-wise, the pot (and storage bag) weigh 156 grams (only 42 g more than the titanium pot), and lastly, the kettle costs less than half the titanium. As a bonus I can store my coffee cone inside the kettle, which was not possible with the pot. So, this is my new system. I don't think there's anything I can do with the pot that I can't do with the kettle. I can make food in it and eat out of it just fine. I think anyone who uses a pot needs to seriously consider a kettle.

Good Trangia alternative

I bought this for my Trangia 27 HA kit as they don't make kettles in anything but raw aluminum. It's a little more expensive than I would have liked, but there is literally no other kettle that I've found that would fit the system. It fits well on the pot supports without needing the pan stand. It will also pack up inside just like the original. It can't sit centered (see pic) as the pot support arms won't lay down flat enough, but a slight offset and you're good to go. Once it's strapped down, it doesn't move. The opening is smaller than a Trangia one so you can't get the pot grippers inside. You can fit the stove inside with room for matches or a lighter. I'm pleased with it so far. I'll update the review if something changes in the future.

It’s a winner

+ Perfect size for 2 mugs of pour-over coffee + small size prevents wasting water & fuel + base to volume ratio heats water quickly + small spout gives great precision and control when poring + silicone on handle and lid make a hot pad unnecessary + handle folds all the way down which makes it even more compact - important in a camper can where space is at a premium. ~No whistle, which is fine with me, but if you want that, be aware there isn’t one on this kettle. - Lid is loose and not secure. However, the pot is small enough that you can extend a finger and keep it on if necessary. ++ Perfect kettle for my needs, and super inexpensive.

TOO cute!

I have been camping, backpacking and traveling for over 50 years. Just added this to my inventory. I actually don't need any other pan when simple car camping backpacking and using dehydrated food or instant oatmeal etc. Great product1

Nice little lightweight kettle

We used the kettle to heat up water for ☕️ in our teardrop's outdoor kitchen. Somehow, I was expecting it to whistle when it was ready, which it did not do. To overcome this, just listen for boiling sounds and look for the steam emanating from the spout. It holds enough for about two cups of ☕️. It worked just fine. The red fin and handle was not hot and it wasn't difficult to pour the water over our pour-over ☕️ filter.

Expensive for such a simple product

It is a compact and lightweight option for boiling water on the trail, making it convenient for backpacking or smaller camping trips. However, at its current price point, it falls a little short of expectations. While functional and portable, the design is undeniably simple – essentially a small, thin-walled kettle. This simplicity is both its strength (lightweight) and weakness (slightly flimsy feel). The 0.8L capacity is ideal for one or two people, but anything larger might require multiple boils. The three-star rating reflects the disconnect between its simple design and its price. It performs its core function adequately, boiling water efficiently over a camping stove, but the cost seems high for what you're getting. There are less expensive alternatives on the market that offer similar functionality. While it's undeniably lightweight and portable, making it a good choice for backpacking where weight is a premium, buyers should carefully consider whether the extra cost justifies the convenience. If budget is a primary concern, exploring other brands might be advisable. Ultimately, it's a decent kettle, but its price is its biggest drawback.

nice little pot

it's a nice little pot. its extremely lightweight and compact, we used it on two week-long backpacking trips and it held up great. we used it to make tea and hot chocolate. It is small, which worked okay for me and my three kids who are all under the age of 10, but it will likely be too small for a group of 3+ adults, so make sure it is the right size for you. It won't be suitable for use on open fire, but worked great with a standard mini-stove.
