Nice composter. It was a bit of a pain to put together because the screw holes are so close to the ridges inside that it’s a tight area to put the nuts on. (Stop laughing. I didn’t know how else to word that!) seems really sturdy. Instructions were pretty funny…don’t put in direct sunlight, don’t put in a humid area to prevent mold, and don’t stand on the wooden boards (no wooden boards included). The only thing I don’t like is that the doors are pretty small so you can’t put more than a handful of leaves in at a time.

First, the pros: 1) Extra screws and nuts were provided. This is rare nowadays, but this came with 4 extra sets of screws and nuts and 2 extra center pipe end caps 2) The nuts are self-tightening: you only have to get them started a few turns then you can screw the screws from the outside (with the included Philips screwdriver) and they will tighten without having to hold the nut with your finger or a wrench. This is key since it is hard at times to wrap your arm inside of the bin to hold the nut while tightening the screw from the outside. 3) Thickness of the plastic is pretty good for what this is. It presents as fairly sturdy when assembled. 4) Large size. I got the 43 gallon model and I can tell it will hold a lot of compost. 5) The tumbler rotates smoothly and easily. 6) The legs are sturdy and easy to assemble. Now the cons: 1) not that easy to assemble. I'm 60 years old. I've been around the Ikea block several times. I've assembled huge pergolas and gazebos and carts and sheds and all varieties of machines and devices. I have every tool. I can do plumbing and electrical work, carpentry, both rough and finish, drywall, irrigation, tile and marble. I've done it all. But this wasn't that easy to assemble. The worst part was thinking the center divider should fit nicely into the center grooved channel that goes around the inside perimeter of the tumbler, when it doesn't even come close. I think the manufacturer said, "let's use one center divider for all the different tumblers we make, fit be darned." I spent more time trying to make the center divider panel fit than assembling the rest of the unit. Check out my pictures to see how poorly it fits. I tried flipping it over, rotating the divider every which way, but nope, didn't happen. 2) You have to work your way around the tumbler, adding one panel at a time. It was difficult at times to hold the panels in place while I was screwing them together. There are these raised, stubby posts that are supposed to snap into holes on the adjacent panels and many times the snap was not as snappy as it should have been. Some of the connections seemed a little loose but upon completion, the sides seem to have pulled together as a team and the weight of the compost may push the edges out enough so that those posts snug up against the holes. Summary: I believe this was worth the price and it will function well for several years.

I was a bit worried when I ordered it these would be ridiculous to put together, but honestly they were very simple. Maybe a half hour to do. Skip the instructions: Don't tighten anything all the way until all the panels are on. Put all the screws so the Philips screw is on the outside and nut is inside. Just make them hand tight so the knurling under the nuts makes contact. That way at the end you can just jump everything tight without reaching all around inside the bin. All the screws are the same except the 2 long ones for the shaft the bin spins in on.(There are extras but you only need 2 screws and 2 nuts. 1. Start with the bin sitting on one side, place the door section first then work clockwise 2. Put all the screws in that attach to the last piece you put on. None go through 3 pieces so no need to wait and it's hard to reach if you leave any out on the far side of the door. 3. Stop when you have 2 panels left and install the center divider. 4. Capture the divider with the last 2 panels and the remaining side piece. 5. Tighten everything up and put the rod in the center and attach to the support.

This thing works great! Takes up a little space but so does a compost pile or bin. It holds a lot of food waste which turns into to really good compost! I do personally add some blood meal every once in a while to help speed up the process. I will say it was a little bit of a hassle putting it together. If I remember correctly it was the center divider between the two compartments that was the hardest part in the assembly. I will also say it does get extremely heavy when trying to rotate it after it gets pretty full. I do also recommend breaking up your eggshells bed throwing them in.

Basic composter tumbler, works for my needs . It's a little smaller than I thought would be but for 2 person household should be fine. The stand isn't heavy duty so not sure how long it will hold up but for the price wouldn't expect it to be either. It was kind of a pain to put together, not really difficult but with all the screws takes some time. If looking for a budget friendly compost tumbler for a smaller household this should work well.

So far so good. Seems like a good quality. Easy to put together with minimal tools. I built it in less than 1 hour by myself. Instructions were simple and straightforward. Turns well, the one side is full already and it spins great. Perfect height. Stand is metal. The canister is plastic and has drainage holes so that it won’t fill up with water in the rain. Comes with two sets of gloves.

As described it would be better if it had a cranking handle etc instead of having to handle the whole box. I feel like I need to shower after I flip it. Also would have been helpful if it came with more instructions but assembly did not take long with a drill you just have to be careful not to over tighten Anything.

It has been 4 years since setting up this product and even in direct UV light, it has not shown any signs of discoloration, distortion, or drying out but the steel pipe frame is showing signs of rusting out in some areas so be sure to either recoat the frame or you can touch it up in some spots as they happen. Great product nonetheless and at a great price. Assembly can be a bit weird and confusing but once you get two sides going, the rest is a piece of cake but follow the directions as there is only one way to assemble this product. I would definitely recommend this product.
