  • Assembly is not that scary…
Color: Black
Yes, assembly took me about 90 minutes BUT it was simple. You do not need to be a mechanic to put this thing together - just need to take the time! It’s affordable and I like that I can move it around my yard if need to. I’m happy with the purchase so far, but I haven’t actually composed anything yet ... show more

  • Pretty decent but center divider *** DOES NOT FIT *** repeat *** DOES NOT FIT *** Pretty decent but center divider *** DOES NOT FIT *** repeat *** DOES NOT FIT ***
Color: Black
First, the pros: 1) Extra screws and nuts were provided. This is rare nowadays, but this came with 4 extra sets of screws and nuts and 2 extra center pipe end caps 2) The nuts are self-tightening: you only have to get them started a few turns then you can screw the screws from the outside (with the included Philips screwdriver) and they will tighten without having to hold the nut with your finger or a wrench. This is key since it is hard at times to wrap your arm inside of the bin to hold the nut while tightening the screw from the outside. 3) Thickness of the plastic is pretty good for what this is. It presents as fairly sturdy when assembled. 4) Large size. I got the 43 gallon model and I can tell it will hold a lot of compost. 5) The tumbler rotates smoothly and easily. 6) The legs are sturdy and easy to assemble. Now the cons: 1) not that easy to assemble. I'm 60 years old. I've been around the Ikea block several times. I've assembled huge pergolas and gazebos and carts and sheds and all varieties of machines and devices. I have every tool. I can do plumbing and electrical work, carpentry, both rough and finish, drywall, irrigation, tile and marble. I've done it all. But this wasn't that easy to assemble. The worst part was thinking the center divider should fit nicely into the center grooved channel that goes around the inside perimeter of the tumbler, when it doesn't even come close. I think the manufacturer said, "let's use one center divider for all the different tumblers we make, fit be darned." I spent more time trying to make the center divider panel fit than assembling the rest of the unit. Check out my pictures to see how poorly it fits. I tried flipping it over, rotating the divider every which way, but nope, didn't happen. 2) You have to work your way around the tumbler, adding one panel at a time. It was difficult at times to hold the panels in place while I was screwing them together. There are these raised, stubby posts that are supposed to snap into holes on the adjacent panels and many times the snap was not as snappy as it should have been. Some of the connections seemed a little loose but upon completion, the sides seem to have pulled together as a team and the weight of the compost may push the edges out enough so that those posts snug up against the holes. Summary: I believe this was worth the price and it will function well for several years. ... show more

  • Seems like its great. Other than receiving a cracked part Seems like its great. Other than receiving a cracked part
Color: Black
So ima give it 4 starts because I received it cracked, pic loaded. But will adjust if needed. This took me exactly 58 mins. I was watching TV so maybe it can be adjusted. The amount of screws scared me! But it was simple. I did this as a woman on my own. Until the last 2 screws I Needed husband's assistance. It turns easily came with everything needed. Seems heavy duty 43 gallons. The size is extra large material seems sturdy and maybe will put weights on the legs if we have bad winds. The lid slide in tough so I don't think a animal can pull them away or take them off. ... show more

  • Complicated to put together but excellent product!
Color: Orange
There were alot of parts to put together and a lot of bolts and nuts. The hardest part was the divider panel came off the track while we were screwing the last panel on. But we got it together by hanging tumbler on the rack and working the divider panel back and forth til it got back in the track. Product works really well . ... show more

  • So far please with it
Color: Black
The first delivery was missing a part. Exchanged for a new one. In both cases the delivery was fast. Once to second one arrived with all the parts it was simple to put together. I really like the separate components. I like it easy to turn and is on legs. Legs seem stabile and should make dumping the complete compost. The gloves were interesting. One has plastic claw to break up the composting material. As far as rust resistance and waste reduction I have only had it for 3 days. So far I am pleased. Will keep post update. ... show more

  • TWO person, lengthy assembly job, but good quality
Color: Orange
Assembly was a real pain! The instructions were surprisingly good, and they included extra pieces and the only tool you need (a simple screwdriver). It seems sturdy, but is easy enough for 5’4” female me to move. Assembly involves MANY little screws in inconvenient places, and some unwieldy pieces! This is definitely a two-person job - it just makes it so much easier to reach and to hold things in place while it’s coming together. I mostly worked alone, and it took a couple hours. ... show more

  • Good Capacity and Easy to Use Composter
Color: Black
This compost bin is a great option if you want something simple and functional. It looks smaller than expected at first, but it actually holds a good amount once you start using it. Building it was easier than I thought. I saw some reviews saying it was hard, but if you follow the instructions closely, it is very manageable. I’ve had it for less than 4 months so still testing it, especially with the Florida heat. So far, it is doing the job and I like having everything contained in one place instead of dealing with a homemade setup. One thing I did notice is a bit of leaking as it gets more full. Also, the material feels more plastic than premium, so it does not look like a very high end product. Pros: Good capacity even if it looks compact Easy to assemble if you follow instructions Keeps compost contained and organized More affordable than other options Cons: Some leaking when it starts to fill up Material feels a bit lightweight and plastic Not sure yet how it will hold long term in strong sun/outdoors ... show more

  • Assembly is annoying but the product is good
Color: Black
The pieces all fit together just awkwardly enough that assembly is a pain. However, for the size and usability, it's worth the price. The instructions are decent, but I did have to wrestle one of the metal pieces with a set of pliers because the inside was bent in.
