It will not hold 400...or even 100 comfortably. 10 - 12 per pocket is about the limit I am willing to store on this unit. It comes well packed with instructions that are very easy to follow. Make sure you keep the Rod holes front to back, you'll know immediately if they don't line up. Use a ratchet, but that's standard with these types of items. The screws didn't strip, stickers came off easy, extra screws, and it looks as nice as the picture when done. Will not hold too many records and we'll see how long the heavy duty fabric holds but it should do fine. Overall I would recommend this as long as you have just a few audio components you want to put on it. ... show more

I purchased this for my girl friend as her birthday gift. She is a big fan of vinyl collection, however she used to store them in boxes under the record player stand. It usually takes a lot of time finding the vinyl she wants to play. This product with excellent design just solved this problem. It is light-weighted but quite sturdy. Surprisingly this is a pretty solid unit for the price. My only complaint is it would be nice to have it a little wider as my turntable barely fits on it and hangs over the back quite a bit.

I was excited to receive this record stand and set it up because my roommate has a bunch of records he has been wanting to display (Not yet pictured). From unboxing to the last screw, it definitely is worth the price. The shelves in the middle are meant for setting a record player or turntable on the very top and the bottom shelves can be used for whatever else you would like to display on them! The side pockets are made of heavy-duty oxford fabric. Assembly was pretty easy. There were extra screws included in the box which I appreciated because sometimes they are easy to lose. It took me about 20 mins to put together initially, but I accidentally put one of the centers side pieces on backwards, so I had to take it back off to flip it around. My only advice for assembly would be to make sure you pay attention to where the screw holes are and the direction in which parts should face. I say this more specifically for the metal sides of the center shelves. There are holes for connecting the shelves and then there are holes that secure the metal bars that you slip the fabric pockets over. Since the pockets are staggered and kind of stair step down, putting one of the sides on the wrong way would also make the holes stair step in the opposite direction. I didn't get pic of this unfortunately. The instructions were not very descriptive, but I personally didn't think it was at all hard to figure out. Checking the correct placement of all pieces twice before screwing everything together could save you time when assembling. If for any reason you need to take it apart for moving or otherwise, it can be disassembled easily using the included hex key or any drill and same size drill bit that you own for a speedier process. Overall, this stand is lightweight yet very sturdy. It's eye-catching and I think once loaded up with all your favorite vinyl records and record player, its sure to give off an interesting and inviting vibe to your home, making everyone want to play their favorite find from your collection. It may not look like much, but this stand can hold up to 400 records in the side pockets and designed to make it easy to flip through and find the one you are looking for. I've never seen one like this in anyone's home before and I personally think its design is very unique. Having to do with music, which is very personal to each individual, it's definitely a personality piece! Show off your love for music by ordering this stand! I highly recommend it to anyone that is looking to add something new to their space. I also do want to mention that I feel that due to the design, it could absolutely be used for other purposes too such as for holding books or magazines in a common area, kids' room or nursery. ... show more

So we have lots of vinyl albums and our current shelf is a bit warped under the weight of them all so I thought this was a good option to take some off the shelf and have them displayed nicely. I do like it, it looks good, I just didn’t realize the part that held the records was a fabric, I would have preferred something much sturdier.
