  • Excellent beginner record player
Excellent beginner record player. I think this is a good value as it's an all-in-one setup and looks really great. It really feels built well. The sound is fairly good. It honestly depends on the record. Most of my records sound great. With a few others, like my Linkin Park albums, I felt like it struggled a little bit and lost some oomph on some songs. It seemed too much medium and lows at certain points in a song is where I tended to notice it. As others stated, the bass is not amazing. I knew there would be compromises with something at this price. Ultimately, I still enjoy the sound. This is less about having perfectly clear audio and more about playing music and just having it on while I hang out, work, cook, or have people over to visit. My only suggestion is this company should sell a $300-$350 version with better speakers. I would've probably paid more if I knew the sound was better. Thankfully I can hook up external speakers down the road if I want to upgrade that. Ultimately I'm very happy with this purchase. I highly recommend. ... show more

  • Extremely Pleased
If you’ve come here looking for an attractive, all-in-one, medium-range (price and quality) record player, this is it. This is the one you want. Go ahead and put it in your cart. Or, if you prefer, read on, and you can hit “buy now” in a few minutes. Look, I’m a musician myself, so I’m certainly a music lover. And I’ve got good taste. I like nice things. But, I’m not laying down $1k (or more!) for a turntable and speaker set. And neither are you; otherwise, you wouldn’t be reading these reviews. Like me, you’ve got some vinyl and a decent amount of disposable income, so you’re looking for something a little nicer than the record-player-in-a-suitcase but not anything that will break the bank. I’ve got 50+ LPs, mostly inherited, and an equal number of 45s, also vintage. I don’t want to ruin them with low-quality needles and heavy arms; I don’t want them skipping due to flimsy arms and bouncy plinths. So, I did the research. (Unpaid, unsolicited, by the way) And this unit sits in that perfect sweet spot between “cheap” and “ridiculously expensive” (and frankly, pretentious). You get an exceptionally smooth and steady turntable, very easy to use even for rank beginners (my kids can operate it with minimal assistance); nice sounding speakers — nothing party-bumping, but the sound fills a modest living space without distortion; all with a stylishly understated classic vibe that’s unobtrusive and portable. (I easily carried it to class for my students to hear. They thought it was dope, as will you, my co-consumers.) Everything was in the package just as described, I had it set up in no time. Everything works as designed: Bluetooth functions well, within a reasonable but somewhat limited (10-15’) range. (“Limited range?!” Yes. But if you’re walking away with your phone in your pocket, are you really listening to the record player anymore? I mean, you can do chores in the next room, but you can’t walk the dog and expect it to stay connected! Lol) The cover stays on and stays out of the way; whether open or closed, you’ll not have trouble with LPs scraping the lid. It’s everything you’re looking for if you’re looking at $200 all-in-one record players — and it’s what you should be looking for if you’ve been shopping for a cheaper system but are scared off by the negative reviews. You don’t have to spend $1000 for a “good” sound system, but it is worth spending a little more to get something you’ll really enjoy and be proud to own. I promise, I’m not anyone special, and I don’t have a hidden agenda. I was here to review a crummy belt buckle when Amazon reminded me to review some other purchases. When I saw this one, I was like, “yeah, I’ll review it because it’s pretty awesome and I want people to have the joy of owning nice things on a budget.” Ok. You still with me? Then, “buy now.” ... show more

  • Worth every penny
I had been looking to upgrade my record player for a while. After a lot of looking around, I landed on this record player and I couldn't be happier. For anyone sitting on the fence due to price, but looking for a better audio experience over a beginner player, this thing is amazing! It was easy to assemble. It feels really sturdy. The features are simple and easy to use, the blue tooth is a nice touch. The audio quality is really nice too. Highly recommend! ... show more

  • Far better than the price
Look, I'm an audiophile that has owned numerous complete stereo setups through the years. My go-to LP player is an old Zenith that I've had for 35 years with capacitor upgrades to keep it smart. I wanted a cheapo "all-in-one" player to set on my computer desk to play records while I work online in my clutter free office room. I tried a couple Target brand style suitcase players and promptly threw them in the trash due to abysmal sound / functionality issues. Oh well, you get what you pay for and I guiltily contributed to unnecessary plastic waste. I decided to give an the intrinsically horrible idea of an "all-in-one" one more try and took a deep dive into reddit and various internet forums. The result was me buying this 1-by-One here. And I hate hate hate buying on Amazon because my experience has been historically subpar. It's a convenient but inferior venue quality wise. I'm 6monthish into having this player and it's been played heavily. The sound is loud, heavy, and smooth. The speaker magically does not bounce my needle yet (though I've seen some bad reviews on this matter. Do take those into consideration). Whatever foot dampeners this has works wonders for me, much better than my traditional players where my 8 year old scratched LPs by running behind me. I don't yet trust it with my most prized LPs, but I'm getting close. The stylus is a quality one and I've not replaced it yet. I buy a lot of trashed LPs from thrift markets and clean them up briefly with an alkaline solution and microfibre clothes before throwing them on if they are overly dirty. But this stylus and player still look and act new. Maybe it's had 600'ish plays, but that's a wild estimate...maybe more...maybe less. Still, I'm very very very happy with the purchase. It's not to replace your audiophile system. But for great sound in a compact place, dude, I'm a happy buyer. I did have some hiccups with setup where the lid wouldn't close over the balancer after I tuned it, but I did something stupid. There's videos out there. Watch 'em. Expect a 30min setup process. All the best! I've played Tom Waits "Closing Time", Miley Cyrus "Plastic Hearts", and Megadeth "Peace Sells" on it tonight. They all sound great Another caveat, the stylus/arm doesn't auto-retract on ending the record. The controls are good, but it's best to manually lift the arm with the control as soon as the LP plays out. Sometimes it senses the end of the LP and turns off after 2-3minutes (but it turns off with the stylus still in the groove). Other times, it runs for like 2 hours before deciding to shut down. Depends on the groove lay out I guess. It has it's downfalls. But it's a perfect aesthetic budget compact "all-in-one" player. Great for LP resellers or office listeners. ... show more

  • Good, but not perfect
Looks good, sounds great and is user friendly. I however have to deduct a star because the acrylic case has some scratches(somehow identically on the inside and outside) right after the box, which was disappointing.
