I was a little skeptical when I first opened the package as these lights are physically not very big and have a pretty thin profile, so I did not expect them to be able to fit a very big battery inside and therefore, was not expecting more than a couple hours of runtime. I was pleasantly surprised when I did my run tests after fully charging over night, which I carried out before mounting on master bedroom wall. The remote does require two AAA batteries, not included, but it’s much easier to switch the lights between multiple settings using the remote control and not by constantly pressing the two buttons on each light. The remote control is almost the same as the controller for a DVD player, with a large center button turning the lights on and off together. The buttons to the left and right of this center control selects from 15 possible colors, and the top and bottom buttons control from multiple light levels from very bright to very dim. You will need to first select the color and light output levels using the two buttons on the lights to sync them together, if not, when you use the remote control it’s more difficult to force both lights to be on the same color and output mode. I was a little disappointed there was not a separate left and right light fixture button on the remote as there could be times you only want one side of bed to be illuminated, it this can be easily accomplished by pressing the on/off button on top of each light. I found the bright white color setting with the brightness set at highest output level only operated for 10 hours for the first light, but the other light when switched to blue color at a next to lowest brightness level operated for 29 hours. If you plan to operate at brightness white levels for a bedside reading light, you will probably need to recharge after 5 days of 2 hours per night runtime. If you wanted a nice ambiance light in an otherwise dark room while watching TV in bed then the lower settings of the blue light provide a very relaxing room color and avoids watching the TV in the dark. Using this blue setting you can expect an average of 4 hours runtime per night for almost 8 days before needing charging. The kit includes a wall mounting plate with several different types of screws and expansion sleeves, or the included adhesive pads can be used to attach this mounting plate to the wall without needing screws. These mounting plates serve as a wall hanger with hangers that fit into the back of the bases for each lamp. This makes it very easy to lift up and off the hangers and move to the nearest outlet and USB charger. No two USB chargers are not included, but the lamps include the newer higher speed USB-3 charging ports for a very fast recharge. While most of the advertising appears to be for lighting above bed in bedroom, these would make great accent rooms above paintings in a dining room, or perhaps mode lighting in a home theater room, in which case you may want to order another pair? I probably would have given a rating of 3 stars due to lack of a separate on/off control for each light, but was so pleased with the long runtime I upped it to 4 out of 5 stars. ... show more
