I paired this recessed boxed ordered with the multi functional electrical outlet that allows usb, usb-c along with two 3 prong. I used this recessed boxed due to Lowe’s not having a recessed box to install behind my son’s hex head art on his wall. I need a recessed box to plug in the led lights and none of the recessed outlets allowed for usb connection. The instructions were straightforward and appearance after installation was great! This Recessed Single-Gang Outlet/Electrical Box worked perfectly to add power to my outdoor TV mounted on vinyl siding. It gave me a clean, professional-looking install without having cords sticking out or being exposed to the weather. The box feels solid and well made, and it was easy to install for both new or existing construction. It fit a standard outlet with no issues and provided enough space for the plug to sit flush behind the TV mount. The black finish looks clean and blends in nicely behind the TV. Overall, it did exactly what I needed — a neat, safe way to add power to an outdoor TV setup. I’d definitely use this again.

It worked for what I wanted. Instructions were terrible. Screws did not fit the box (either to mount the end plate or to mount a fixture). I ended up filling the holes with a bit of epoxy and threading screws into it.

This is not for the faint of heart to install but the parts and the quality are perfect. Always measure where the television mount will criss cross we put it in above on the upper right. Measure twice cut once.

The only thing wrong with this recessed outlet box is what others have mentioned, the screw holes for the receptacle itself are the wrong size. There were no screws included for the receptacle in my package. In addition, I searched my wide array of machine bolts and miscellaneous screws to see if anything would work....and found nothing. Given I had already cut the hole in my wall, I went ahead and used this box by pushing the existing receptacle's screws into the oversized holes and very carefully bending the electrical wiring behind the receptacle so to hold the receptacle in place. Between the minimal friction of the screws and the special bends in the wiring, it seems to be keeping the receptacle in place.
