I finally had the chance to install a couple of these old work boxes and they are fantastic. Installation was easy and for the price they meet or exceed the standards of a big box store.     • Works great for properly cut hole

These worked well at installing outlets in sheetrock in an existing house. I replaced the kitchen cabinets and now needed various receptacles in the base cabinets and some of the upper cabinets for LED lighting power supplies. After the hole is carefully cut with a rotary saw, the box is placed in the new hole and the Philips screw on each corner of the box is turned. This has the effect of peopping up a tab which then tightens aginst the sheetrock on the backside securely fastening the box. As long as the hole is perfectly cut there is no issue getting these snug. I recommend a rotary cutter for cutting the preciion hole these boxes need. ... show more

These "old work" 1 gang outlet boxes are great for adding outlets or a switch to an existing wall as you only need to cut the proper hole into the drywall and don't need to attach to a wall stud. The box has tabs that will secure the box directly to the drywall. I live in an older double-wide manufactured house that has ivory switches and outlets that I am changing out to black. Manufactured homes often have an outlet or switch that does not require a separate box, so replacing with a different color requires an old work box. This type of box attaches to the drywall instead of being nailed on to a stud. This is a necessary item for my conversions. These boxes from the Togalonn Store are a single-gang with a capacity of 14 cubic inches making this size ideal for my project. The boxes are sturdy and the “wings” that hold the box in place are more robust that the ones I have been finding at my local home-improvement store. These boxes are well made and easy to install. Just mark your opening, cut the drywall and insert the box and tighten the two provided screws. It is solid and ready to use! Just be sure to think about the wires first, you may want to insert them into the box before tightening down the screws!

I do electrical work and wanted to try these because of the advertisement. I thought they were a little high priced though I thought that it may be due to the quality. I received these quickly and they are roomy for a 14 cubic in box. They are not the quality that I was expecting.
