Features

  • BMS: The lithium 12V Battery Management System automatically protects our deep cycle lithium batteries from harmful causes of battery failure, such as low/high temperature, over/undercharge, over/under current, short circuits, and more. Built-in low-temperature protection.
  • HIGH-DENSITY GREEN BATTERIES: Our renewable energy lasts 5 to 10 times longer and provides twice the available Watts, than comparable lead-acid. As a green battery, these are also about half the weight of lead-acid batteries.
  • SERIES or PARALLEL: Suitable for series or parallel operation. Whether you want to double the voltage to 24/36/48 Volts, or increase the 12V capacity, these batteries will perform.
  • SIZE and WEIGHT: This 12v lithium battery weighs in at just 3.1 pounds. The 12v lithium-ion battery is a standard size and is considered a drop-in lead-acid battery replacement for most applications.
  • DO NOT: Use 12V Lithium batteries as a cranking battery (starting engines), burn, crush, disassemble, or short circuit. Preferred for wet or high moisture environments.

Description

The 12V 12 Ah LiFePO4 is an excellent choice for power and reliability. This is due to its versatility, connect in series to increase the voltage or connect in parallel to increase the wattage. Both configurations are supported without any special configuration settings.

  • Great lithium batteries for RV applications!
Size: 100AH Metal
I own a 23-foot travel trailer that I have had for four years, and the dual lead acid golf cart batteries I had been using were nearing end of life after almost 200 nights off the grid. Rather than replace them with more heavy batteries that required frequent maintenance, checking water levels, etc. I wanted to look into a lithium replacement. I did some searching around on various forums and RV groups to see what people liked, and stumbled across a post about ReBel Batteries. I admit I was a little biased that they are a veteran owned business. But, the more I read, the more I liked. The US-based support was a big deal for me, as some of the horror stories from the Chinese-supported batteries scared me a bit, as this was a fairly large investment. I also liked the metal-cased versions of the batteries, as they allow serviceability. This means that, after the 5-year warranty has expired, if the BMS or cells need service, I can do this myself without destroying the case. The last factor that went into my decision is the presence of a low temperature disconnect. Lithium batteries cannot be charged below 32 degrees Fahrenheit without damage. Many competing battery manufacturers do not have a low temperature disconnect, meaning that they could be potentially damaged if accidentally or deliberately charged below this temperature. Since I do see below freezing temperatures on occasion, I was concerned about accidentally attempting to charge the batteries below freezing, thus damaging them. All Rebel batteries do have a low temperature disconnect. I decided to go with 3 of the 100ah metal case batteries and wire them in parallel, giving me a 300Ah system with 300A discharge capability. Ordering and First Impressions: I ordered them from Amazon at 11PM CST on Sunday night. I had the batteries in my hand about 4PM on Wednesday as soon as I got home from work. The first thing I noticed is how incredibly well made the batteries are. The metal case seemed to be very heavy gauge and solid. Several different length studs for the M8 terminals were included, which was a nice touch. I even received several crimp-on cable lugs for the terminals, though these were not needed in my case, since I had already purchased pre-terminated cables for my installation. The batteries were extremely well-packed, with about one inch of foam surrounding the batteries on all sides to protect them. All the batteries tested out at 13.2 volts before charging. Since my batteries were going to be in parallel, I charged them independently first, with a 20A LiFePO4 compatible charger. After charging, all three batteries were between 13.59 and 13.61 volts, exactly where they should be. BMS and Bluetooth: The Bluetooth BMS is fantastic, and could potentially eliminate the need for a battery monitor kit. I am using a Victron BMV-712 that I already had installed with my lead acid batteries, but you don't necessarily need one with these batteries. The built-in Bluetooth allows you to see individual cell voltages, remaining capacity in amp-hours and percentage, current amps in or out, and remaining time until 0%. It is also possible to change various parameters, such as low voltage cutout, temperature cutouts, etc. Be aware that changing parameters in the BMS does void the warranty. I am perfectly happy with the stock BMS parameters, so I will not be changing them, but you certainly can if you want to. Very few manufacturers give you this ability. If you are using an off-board battery monitor like I am, there is a hardware switch to turn the Bluetooth functionality off to eliminate any possible phantom amp draw. While I'm sure the Bluetooth functionality has almost no current draw, it is a nice touch to be able to disable it. Functionality and testing: With the batteries fully charged and wired up in parallel, with 2/0 gauge tinned copper wire between them, it was time to do a capacity test. I turned on my 3000 watt pure sine wave inverter, and switch on my 13,500 BTU rooftop air conditioner to place a heavy load on the batteries. I kept an eye on battery temperature, and watched my Victron battery monitor to watch the capacity and battery voltage. After almost three hours of running the air conditioner compressor non-stop, the batteries hit 11.8 volts under load, and I terminated the test. As you can see from my Victron monitor screenshot, the total capacity used indicated 303.9 amp-hours, slightly over the 300ah rating. Cell voltages were still over 3.0V, with total voltage at 12.04. I probably could have pushed the batteries a little further and gotten even more capacity out of them, but that was as far as I wanted to discharge them. Conclusion: Based on my buying experience, initial impressions, and customer service, I can see that Rebel Batteries is the real deal. The owner is a straight shooter, and is very attentive to detail. The batteries appear to be very high quality, and meet their stated capacity easily. The BMS appears to be high quality, and functions as designed, and the Bluetooth is a great bonus, even though I am not using it in my particular application, simply because I already have another Bluetooth monitoring system in place. If you have been researching lithium batteries for an RV or other mobile application, and aren't sure which ones to buy, give Aric a chance at earning your business. I suspect you won't be sorry. As a final note: After purchase, the price on these dropped on Amazon by $50. I contacted Aric and asked if there was a way to get the price difference refunded. He went through quite a bit of trouble to make sure I got my $150 back. I truthfully wasn't expecting a refund, but Aric came through, and saved me $150. Good luck finding that at most battery manufacturers! ... show more

  • Great Customer Service
I ordered a 6AH battery from ReBel and it arrived showing a voltage of 1.1V. I was pretty sure it was dead since LifePo4 batteries drained below 3V are probably damaged beyond repair. I wasn't absolutely sure though, so I opened a support ticket using the ReBel website and explained what I saw. I wasn't really expecting an answer, but to my surprise, I received a response just a few hours later confirming what I thought. It's dead. They offered to ship a new battery that day and apologized for the hassle. Everybody selling batteries has a bum unit from time to time. I really doubt that that everybody has customer service that good though. I will be ordering more from them in the future. ... show more

  • Sleeper Value with Competitive Warranty
I bought this beast of battery to power my new Old Town Sportsman 120 Autopilot. The bluetooth connectivity and App are a great way to check performance levels on and off the water. Most trips, I barely use half the charge during an 8-10 hour day at low to moderate speed. During my research, Aric quickly responded to all my questions. Shipping was fast too. • Solid built quality, built-in Bluetooth, excellent customer service
Size: 100AH Metal
I got my reBel 12v 100ah metal battery couple weeks ago. It replaced my lead-acid battery in my RV and was surprisingly able to charge up to 107ah with my old lead-acid 13.5v charger from 2012. It took some time but was surprised I was able to bring it up to 100%, but definitely upgrading to faster charger for lithium soon. The Bluetooth BMS app works great and connects immediately! reBel batteries is Veteran owned small business out of Texas with great customer service. Very happy camper here! ... show more

  • I gotta' lose some weight, this will help
I wish I knew about Lithium Ion batteries before I bought my 12v x 55ah AGM for kayak trolling motor. This 12v x 10ah weighs about 40% of what a 12v x 7ah SLA does. Using it in a water tight box from Hardboar Fray8t for Fishfinder/depth finder on kayak. Weigh is a big consideration. The company's customer service was excellent prior to the sale communicating via email and their web portal. If I can find a buyer for the 55ah AGM I will upgrade to rebel 12v x 55ah (50ah?). Veteran owned company I think. Super lightweight product at a good price. ... show more

  • Zero Volts on Arrival
I was looking forward to using this battery for my fish finder, but the unit that I received was completely dead on arrival. I tested it multiple times with a multimeter and it showed zero volts. I checked some other batteries to confirm that it wasn't my multimeter, and confirmed that it was the battery. I decided to try and charge it, and connected it to a Victron Energy charger. I could not get it to fully charge. Unfortunately, I will need to send this unit back. I'm sure that everyone gets a bad unit from time to time. I would have accepted a replacement, but Amazon did not offer that option. ... show more

  • Only 6.5 lbs. great for my kayak
Size: 24AH
I'm using this small LiFePo4 in my kayak to power my 17 lb. thrust trolling motor and the depth finder. I fished 3 hours a few days ago, motoring around the small lake in our city park. It ran the electronics just find and when I got back the little 3 amp charger needed only about an hour for a full charge. I had been using a 50 lb. AGM battery in the stern dry storage so reducing that to only 6.5 lbs. and still having everything work is a great benefit. ... show more
