My new RAM 2500 came with an OEM tri fold cover. They look great, but when you need to use your whole truck bed, you lose a third of the space unless you take the cover off...Not fun. That said, I prefer soft roll up tonneau covers because they are easier to open and close sit a little lower than their tri fold counterparts. That said, this is my second TruXedo soft roll cover in as many trucks. My previous cover was the Lo Pro model so I will briefly compare it to the TruXsport. With the Low Pro you will lose an inch or two of bed width because the rails are canted inward to give it a lower profile look. The Low Pro also has a latch that makes it easily removable. The TruXsport sits flatly on the bed rails and does not create a loss of bed width. The TruXsport is not removable unless you remove the rails, however, both models roll up onto the back truck ledge, so there really isn't a reason I can see to remove either cover. More on the TruXsport. The weather seals on the TruxSport are exceptional. You might get a few drops of water in a heavy rain storm or in the car wash, but overall it will be bone dry. I really like that in addition to the installed cover seals, I like that it comes with optional extra weather stripping and corner seals. Installation is very easy with two rails and three clamps each. I recommend keeping the clamps loose until you get the cover aligned and squared correctly. After that simply torque to specs and you are good to go. The rear of the cover has two latches that engage once it is rolled closed. There are internal tensioning springs in the rails to keep the cover tight. The rails have weatherproof velcro so you can tension and seal the sides. It's a very quick and process to roll open and close the cover. When open there are two straps that secure the rolled cover on the back ledge behind the truck bed. You do not lose any space. Honestly, I like the TruXsport a little better, not because it is less expensive than the Low Pro, but it looks just as good not being low profile, no loss of bed width, and there are two latches that hold the cover closed while creating more tension in the fabric. Easy to install. Looks nice on my truck. I like the upgraded straps for when you roll it up. Decent quality for the price. I bought this to replace an older version that had issues. I would recommend to the company is to put screw holes near the cab corners to help hold it together during install.

I bought my 2022 Ram 3500 used in early 2023. At the time it had an Extang hard trifold cover (see label in pics) that was very nice. Fast foward after owning the truck for about a year I observed the center panel bubbling up. One day I tried to fold the cover up and the middle hinge broke. Apparently the panels used were susceptible to swelling when exposed to moisture. Boy that was a stupid design although a very nice cover. I am a tight wad and did not want to invest thousands of dollars in a cover. Came across this cover and they had the famous "used like new" being sold for $300. Usually it's a hit and miss on these items but this one was clearly a hit:)! It had a slight scratch on the outside rail that I will touch up with paint. Did screw up with the install so make sure your straps to secure when it is rolled up are under the cover when installing. Secondly, I did not like the rear wiper seal and how it seated on my tailgate so I positioned the cover and rail slightly tighter that the 1/8 suggested. We shall see how much water gets the the bed. However, I think based on its design it will be better than my hard cover. At least I do not expect the cover to swell:)! ... show more

I am used to a full sized truck topper, however, as I get older I can't remove it by myself anymore. So, when I purchased my new truck, I was looking for a different option. After many hours of perusing the internet for insight, I finally decided on the TruXedo Pro X15 Soft Roll Up Truck Bed Tonneau Cover. The following reasons are why I think I made the right choice. 1. The rolling cover makes it easy to rollup out of the way for larger cargo. No panels that have to be folded and propped up against the back of the truck. 2. If I am carrying larger cargo that may be of substance, i.e. firewood, heavy equipment. I can just unbolt the framework (which seems delicate against a piece of firewood being thrown at it) and put in the shop in less than 15 min. 3. Weathertight; as I stated before, I had truck toppers since I was a kid. Water intrusion was never a thing, so I was apprehensive with an tonneau cover. After many rain events, I am pleased with the results. Now, I wouldn't leave my last will and testament in there but I have had carboard boxes in there after a few rains and they were still dry. 4. Velcro verses button down, I have been inmpressed with the Velcro. As you roll out the cover it automatically re-adheres and you just push down on the back and walk away, you don't have to go around to snap buttons. 5. one latch versus two; I was on the fence with this but I don't see another latch making that big of a difference. The case was made that it would be easier to pry up on the one corner without the latch and break into the bed of your truck. A knife will break into the bed, no need in prying one latchless corner. The rail is strong and keeps the cover firmly in place. 6. Not a like but more of a thought. Some covers, you can close the tailgate with unlatching the cover. This one you need unlatch the cover, close the tailgate and then slap the cover closed. It wasn't a big point with me and it makes sense to me that the seal would be better that way. However, I did not look at the other model in person to say whether it was a good seal or not. I have had the cover for over 3 months now and will say that I am glad I purchased this model. It fits my specific needs and I don't see any reason why it won't last me a long time. I hope this helps in your decision, whichever it may be... ... show more
